WANTED: Kajabi like commenting system

I was watching the second Kajabi video yesterday and was wondering if there was a WP plugin that would do something similar to the way Andy set up Kajabi's commenting system?

With Kajabi, all members of your site can see all the comments, questions and/or answers to questions that they have ever left or given on the site from one central place - and that is what I'd like to add to my membership site.

Thanks
Steve

    Hi Steve,

    This may work for you:

DISQUS Comments | Powering Discussion on the Web

People use that in our membership system for commenting. Its simple to add to any site or page.

Thanks Josh. I have a few questions if you could please because what Disqus actually does is not that clear to me from their websites description...

      1) Will Disqus enable my members to see all the comments, questions and/or answers to their questions from one central place - after they login to my site?

      2) How and where do they see all this stuff? Does Disqus automatically install their own special comments page on my site?

      3) Will all their comments be visible to paying members ONLY? Just asking because some of this stuff I won't want to be visible outside of my site (like Facebook) and only after they are logged in.

      4) Did you use the free or the paid version of Disqus?

      Thanks again.

      Steve

Disqus is a great solution. There's also XCommentPro ¦ Comment Script and Rating Software.

There's also Intense Debate, which is also an Automattic company. It supports Blogger, Wordpress & Typepad blogging platforms. Also, automatically integrated into the social graph.

This is what you are really looking for, to be able to have threaded comments within the social graph - that means, single sign-on as well as integration with Facebook plugins, etc.

There's also another that is out there called Echo.

It would be good to know what type of platform your sites are on.
Also, Intense Debate, as well as Disqus allows for all the features you are seeking, whereas, your members will have their own personal backend commenting profile.

I actually utilize both platforms, as I use them for different functions.

My membership site uses Wordpress (self-hosted).

Do all these systems require that my members sign up for something outside of my membership site? I'm hoping something exists that will work within my own membership site.

      Thanks

It doesn't require them to, however, "THE FUTURE" will require them to automatically. If you see what's happening in regards to the Social Graph & where commenting, social networking, and the technology is moving -- it's moving to the following areas:
        1. Accuracy of the Profile:
        A. Wordpress now has the feature where you can mouse over a picture & see their profile.
        B. There is already tight integration, whereas, if you log under your name just in ONE Wordpress.com site, and then go to a completely wordpress based site -- you will be automatically logged in.
        C. Everyone who utilizes Wordpress "SHOULD" have automatically a Wordpress profile/account (that's if you selected it, or have the Akismet feature) -- So this means that you can automatically log into your Wordpress.com profile and see EVERY comment you EVER made & it's corresponding sites.

Now, they don't have to sign up for an outside account. They can be annonymous. However, most likely, it some form or fashion, a high percentage of your members will already have some type of existing profile somewhere, which will automatically integrate them in the social graph.

All my Wordpress sites are Wordpress.org.

The ideal would be to have a member dashboard system integrated into my wordpress.org membership site (like Kajabi has) where my members can see all their comments, questions and answers at a glance. I want to keep this as simple and user friendly for my members as possible.

That's a facebook social plugin that he's using. Very cool. And smart...it prevents anonymous commenting in a way.

      Who is "he"?

I use a Facebook comment plugin on my NON-membership affiliate sites but I want these comments to be protected from non-members.

        Andy Jenkins.

Sorry, I misunderstood your question. You're asking about the commenting system found inside of Kajabi, correct? I actually haven't seen anything that does exactly the same thing kajabi's commenting system does yet...I'm interested in finding out as well.

I posted a similar question in the thread below. I'm still looking for a solution my self.

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ting-free.html

"I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to recreate the kajabi post commenting system within wordpress. Basically what Kajabi does is allow you to create comment types for when users post a comment under a piece of content inside your members area.

For example a "support" coment type, a "question" comment type, etc. Then in the backend you have choice of only making certain comment types visable to all users while keeping others hidden.

The great thing about this is that it can potentially reduce your time handling support and answering common questions since you can make the conent that other users will find helpful visable to all. It's like a self growing FAQ system.

I'm hoping theres a way to do this without kajabi. If not someone might be interested in creating a plugin to mimic the functionality as I think it would quite useful."

Daniel I think you got a point there. A opportunity has arisen to sell (if not offer free) a plugin like that and instead of the monthly do a one time charge .

Its been a while so I'm checking to see if anyone has created a "Kajabi" like commenting system plugin yet for Wordpress.org? This system should enable my members to have a central dashboard within my membership site where they can see all the questions/comments they have made on the site and comments/replies others have made?
