Can I show my affiliate links on this forum??

This may sound like a really stupid question but say someone asks about a specific product on this forum and I use it and want to comment about it but also want to leave my affiliate link, can I do that?

Reason is I am not into promoting IM stuff just use the products for my adsense/amazon sites but why not at least answer questions and maybe make a sale here and there for some of the products I use.

I just don't know the protocol on this aspect of the business and I don't want to come across as being spammy or get a bad reputation.

No but you can create a website or blog with your links on it.

No. Not a good idea to put affiliate links in posts or even to put many links to your own sites in posts. That's what the signatures are for, although you cannot put affiliate links in signatures either.

That's fine so long as it's relevant. Like no posts that say "haha that's so interesting! Check out myblog.com!"

But if it's in your signature that's fine

No, I PM a newbie a few days back advising them to remove their affiliate link, or you will get it removed for you and maybe an infraction.

I would however recommend you post in the correct forum in future.

You are in the right forum and your question is relevant and I'm more than happy to answer it for you.

Yes, you can link to your sites in your sig and offer whatever you want to offer on your sites, so that's a good thing. You can also link to your WSOs if you ever run any.

I just want to add to this so you don't get confused. Every now and then you will see someone post a link to their site in the post ... no affiliate links, usually. If new people do this real often and aren't contributing very much it raises a red flag ... like they're here just to get links and traffic. If someone who is known to be a contributor does it and there seems to be a good reason for it, it does not raise red flags.

I just didn't want you to think that there were different rules for different people, because there aren't.
