When Would You Sell Your Profit-Making Method?

I just read a post by someone using a method to make money that was sold
by a Guru, therefore saturating the market.

So I ask you - if you found a way to rake in the bucks, would you sell it to
other marketers? If so, why would you sell it and when?

I probably would never release an exact duplicate to what I do, however, I would give someone the general gist of it. Most of what has made me money has more to do with testing, experience, and repetition than with a singular plan of action.

I have found several things over the years that I've written the odd report on, but never released them because I decided they were too stupid simple, obvious, or in some cases complicated.

I have discovered one thing recently that I'm testing which looks really promising. If the results continue along the path they are now, I may release a report on it. I could never hope to even tap 1% of such a huge market, so sharing that information wouldn't be a problem.

For me, it would depend on whether selling it to other marketers would reduce my own ability to earn from it. (I suspect that quite often it doesn't/wouldn't, really, partly because there's normally "room for many" and partly because few people use correctly "money-making systems" that they buy anyway. I'm generalising, of course).

In most cases I have found, it is not the "system" that is magical or special. It is the person's persistence with the system until they find a wide open niche or until they have built up some sort of base. But the system isnt magical - it might be that the actual niches that the person is using the system in are low competition and therefore you wouldn't want to disclose them...

But It pretty much still all boils down to traffic and conversion - no matter how many ways you say it.

I share profit-making methods if I believe that saturation is unlikely.
What I don't typically share is the exact product/niche combinations
that are working for me (although I may give some hints). This means
others will actually have to use a bit of creativity of their own.

Rarely will you see an actual "turn-key" system released by anyone.
Virtually all methods will require you to put your own creative twists
on it. This is a good thing. It forces people to think outside the box
      and nurtures a creative mind-set.

      To your success,
      Matt

This is the reason why so many people fail at affiliate marketing, putting out a system with only half of the method is just wrong, not putting it out would be the right thing to do.

Thats why i only buy products that are aimed at helping my business grow, affiliate marketing is about 3 things, content, backlinks and the last thing traffic.

Not magic, just plain old common sense.

    Digital Info Diva,

EXCELLENT question. Why do "they" sell a successful money making method? Well, I can't answer for any guru, but I'll share with you WHY I do and WHEN I don't, fair enough?

I've written three in depth reports on making money by "Chatteling", which is the buying and selling of personal property to make a profit. I've sold boatloads of reports to untold numbers of people, none of which can EVER saturate the market.

I know of people in the same neighborhood "Chatteling" and they never compete.

So I have greatly profited from the sharing of this money making method without worry of saturation and or competition.

Also, in the War Room, a member will find 3 reports I've written on money making subjects
and just this morning I rec'd a request for a sample of a HOTSHEET.

EVERYONE, every single Warrior could create his own HOTSHEET and not be in fear of saturation and competition. So the information on HOW to create a HOTSHEET is freely shared.

Those who have APPLIED AND USED the information have profited from it.

So, those are examples of the WHY I would share money making strategies and methods with others. There is simply NO NEED to keep it secret.

HOWEVER, I publish certain types of HOTSHEETS, some of which have been published over a decade, to a very specific niche, and these have NEVER been shared, nor will they be.

Why? Because they could be replicated, corrupted, stolen and ripped off and because they are under the radar cash cows which no one need know about.

So there are times when I share the money making information, because it is for the good of all, and there are times when I keep the information private.

It is a strategy which has worked for me for well over 15 years now and one which I will continue to deploy.

There are times to "clone" the gurus and times to let them die alone on the mountain top.

PS. There is also a fact of life, which is most of all buyers, by some estimates up to 90% or more, which will never do anything with the information anyhow, they are collectors and librarians and can tell you what people are doing, however, they can't show you how. It's OK, nothing wrong with being a collector, and it is why, in my opinion, so many 'gurus' freely share their "inner most secrets" and are constantly "spilling their guts" all over the Internet.

THEY know the majority of their buyers are not going to do anything with the information OR they leave out a KEY step or strategy which may be critical to making their information work.
