Benefit of Scribd in a Linking Network?

I've been experimenting with link wheels, variants on those, and other backlink "networking" methods involving Web 2.0 sites. I came across a recommendation to set up a network where a few spun Scribd articles have a link in them pointing to one of my Ezine Articles (which in-turn points to my main site).

I think I'm also supposed to try to get blog-comment backlinks to the Scribd articles.

What does this actually accomplish?

Thanks.

It builds the page authority of the ezine article that which sits on a high authority domain name. Google values that more than building links into your site which will most likely have a lower domain authority.

The bottom line is that one page with a high page authority linking to your site is better than hundreds of low page authority sites linking in. This is a creative way to build high page authority links from pages that you control or created.
