Hello,

I am reading trough the topics of this forum for some time now. I like the forum very much. Now i have a question for the great specialist of this forum.
I am in the process of researching for an online business idea. I am a software developer and i want to lunch an online service. But i have a problem, i don't know if the service that i want to lunch is a good one if i will have audience and public intersted in this service. My question for you is , is there any good material (book, video) that explain in detail how to research your market, how to determine if a market is a good one? I am searching for a good material that will help me to determine if my idea worth making or not.

    Hello and welcome to the forum.

    Your question is rather broad so I cannot be too specific.

    However, when you want to launch a project you need to do good keyword research. I suggest you trawl the forum for threads related to "keyword research". You will find many

    To get you on your way though, here are a couple of preliminary steps:

    1) Put your main topic keyword into the free Google Keyword Tool. This will generate a list of applicable keywords and will show you how many searches are made based on those keywords. You can then get a initial impression of the size of your potential market.

    2) Get a copy of the free Traffic Travis. The free version will be fine for you; no need to upgrade. This is a suite of programs which allows you to do analysis based on Keywords, SEO Analysis, Search Engine Tools, Page Analysis.

    Above all, I would urge you to take action. You will learn more, more quickly, by launching your project and going for it.

      Hello, Thx for your reply.
      I know some things about keyword research because i know something about SEO/SEM. i've done some o that things in the past. About Travis i didn't knew, good tool. Thx.
      Btw, we are trying to build an Autorespond system like the ones that exists on the market, aweber, s.o. We try to build something better here, better there and try our chance on this market. We are a bunch of senior developers with little experience in marketing and we appreciate the good work that peoples on this forum are doing.

      P.S - Dou you any good survey system related to the marketing area, list building where you can make some cinde of minimal surveys, simple surveys?
