Default Do menu links count for seo purposes

I have a site where the main content of the home page is not optimized as well as I wish, but the menu of clickable links on the side of the home page, for the titles of the books I sell, are all optimized well, with each link being a long tail keyword.

Do the search engines see these as part of the page for seo reasons, and can I use these long tail keywords in ppc campaigns with any success.

Thanks Glenn

If you are talking about site wide/internal links then yes those do help a little for your site's seo. Using kewords in the links is a good thing but just don't over do it.
