Hello all...

What are my chances of getting a page 1 listing. i have brought a domain name with the keyword in the domain name and it gets around 70,000 searches a month. its a .net domain.

do i have any chances of getting in the top ten? i think there are about 3 million competing pages...

Thanks

It depends on the niche and your ability to get links. Only you know what your abilities and previous results are.

    Yes, you do!

You must identify what you need to do in order to outrank the competition, then get off your bum and do the work.

Write better content; get more backlinks; stay focussed; keep at it; and don't give up!

    Good luck,

    Will

Thanks for the vote of confidence.... i guess you mean writing better content in my articles for backlinking, and not on the website its self.. is it just volume of backlinks or should i just focus on relevant content for my niche?

content on your site and site structure will help , i have a key with over 3 million comp as you and only have 15 back links coming in according to market samurai and am rock solid in number one spot for that term.

the sites about 1 year old / but been in number one for ages , it is beating domains that are 9 / 13 years old and have in the very high number back links / so in this case on site planning helped me.

best of luck moving forward with your venture \/ showing it can be done

  • really depends. I have sites with front page listings, including 1-word or 2-word phrases.

Depends how much time/effort/resources you put into it.

i was kind of under the impression that google will list your site to how relevant your domain name was and your website title... surely having a the domain name and website title will make things alot easier? i know i will have to do some link building but i should see results alot quicker?

If you are exploring your chanses in the low competition niche then, you might get your desired success very quickly. If not then you have to work hard for that, it is so simple. Sometimes ezinearticles, hubpages and Squdoo lenses also becomes hard to compete. So, don't take them lightly.

These are small factors and the impact will depend on how competitive the niche is.

In reality you can get top results without even considering these things.

I don't bother with keyword domains most of the time because it's how you market the site that ultimately makes the most difference. Don't expect doing this to make your site do well - you need to market it.

You can if you think you can. You have 50-50 chances in every business. You either fail or you succeed. Either way, you have to learn and improve on your success if you succeeded. If you fail, rise up, dust yourself and look for what made you to fail, correct it if you can and start your journey to success again because failure simply means "success postponed".

  • You do have a good chance. Keywords in the domain is one of the best offsite things you can do for SEO. But it isn't the only thing, so I hope you are not only relying on this. SEO has both onsite and offsite things you can do.

it doesn't matter how many pages , the key is the competition, their links , age and opseo , It doesn't sound like a small niche with 70k searches, is that exact?
if it is my guess is it's a difficult niche, keyword domain will help a lot, time and quality links will be needed.
