Patents and Internet Marketing

I was curious if anyone has patented their systems or ideas that they sell via internet marketing. If so I am in need of patent processing. I have a off topic idea that I am wanting to get patented and basically needing to know how to write it up ect ect and how to research the idea to make sure no one has already patented the idea. If there are any ebooks on how to take your idea from start to investors aka "Finish". Please let me know! Thanks for your help in advance!!

    the best advice you will get here is to contact someone who specialises in Patents and intellectual property.

    If you're looking to protect yourself, don't do it on 'hearsay,' you'll probably find out that the advice you are given is conflicting.

    Contact a professional, who has experience in performing searches and protecting your product/system.

      i agree. you should ask for assistance. you can contact experts in the law, especially intellectual property rights. believing on what others are telling you, especially those who do not really know anything about it, will lead you to the wrong way and you will end up regreting on what you have done.

    You need to consult with a patent attorney. Any patent attorney worth using will give you a free consultation and address many of your basic questions at that stage.

    Moreover, you need to understand what patents are and what they are not - in other words, you need to explore WHY you think you need patent protection.

    There are no "patent police". No one is going to enforce for you whatever patent rights you might be finally granted by the PTO in 2011 (if you started immediately).

    You will be spending at minimum several hundred dollars in filing fees to do it yourself and much more over the life of the patent in maintenance fees, etc. That's if you do it all yourself *without* an attorney. And if you DO go that route, that means you've also spent money educating yourself and spent eons doing all the legwork on your own.

    Do you anticipate having the resources to bring an infringement action against another party? Suits like that can take years and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to litigate (and that's a conservative estimate - big companies spend millions on this type of litigation). Many, many, many patent holders have a $10,000 certificate hanging on their wall that... when you shake it, NO MONEY FALLS OUT...

    Think very carefully about whether your money is better spent on further product development, great marketing, or perceived "protection" somewhere down the line.

    Don't get me wrong, if you have something really one of a kind, it may be the best route to go, but you would be the exception not the rule.

    There is a fine line between being respectful and offensive to one's point of view and in advertisement it can either lead to effective marketing or a lot of trouble. As they say that one man's controversial idea is another man's offensive idea. Sometimes resorting to provocative campaigns are totally worthwhile if they help you to increase your sales and establish a sustainable brand name in the market. But does that only work for big corporations like Apple, Coca-cola to take risks like these? Can small brands or startups consider such tactics for their advertisement plan as well without destroying their amateur brand legacy? These intriguing questions always pop up in my mind and I think that whether is it a good idea to create advertisements that are beautiful and genuine to attract customers which has a greater possibility of going flat with minimum response from the market or to go for calculated controversial ad campaign against your competitor to gain a lot of public attention?

    Hi, I'm quite new on internet marketing and I decided to start writing lots of articles related with psychology/personal development tips niche (non-published). However, after writing 40-50 articles I started to read a lot of niche sites and I'm a little confused that probably my articles are getting too broad for this niche. Since I didn't target it for a specific mental health pathology I believe that I went too broad and will be very hard to monetize. I would appreciate any suggestions
