Selling [transferring] a WP Blog

Hey Warriors,


I'm finishing piecing together a blog that I plan on flipping, however I have a question having never sold a wordpress blog before.


What are all of the steps to transferring the site?

I know how to transfer a domain, do I also email them the wordpress back up?

Do they have to reinstall all of the plug-ins once they change hosting?

What about RSS feed subscriptions? How do I transfer those without giving them my feedburner account?

    Here is what you need (assuming your doing):

    A cpanel backup won't always work on other servers.

    Database export (from phpmyadmin)
    Wordpress Files (plug ins, core files, and templates.

    Create the domain on the new hosting account. Access it's cpanel and ftp using the IP address (since it's probably not propogated yet). Create database and user through cpanel. Go into phpmyadmin and import the database from the old server.

    Upload wordpress files. Change wp-config.php to point to the new database.

    Your done. After the nameservers propogate to the new host it's live and should work properly.

    Ohh and you used to be able to transfer feedburner accounts - I'm sure if you poke around there or google it you'll find something. You will need the new persons email address and I think it has to be the same one they are registered with.
