Yep that is better than most. You can do better though, im at around 34% at the moment. The better the article the better the click through rate.

You reall do have to give the reader a good reason to make that click.

Not my philosophy at all, if you'll excuse a dissenting view.

I consistently earn far more now, with my articles averaging around 17%/18% CTR, than I did a year and a bit ago when my average CTR was around 37%/38%. And that's across many hundreds of articles in 8 different niches.

Don't let people tell you that "the better the article, the better the CTR". It's a simplistic approach. Better articles are the ones that produce the most income, and lead to some residual income from syndication leading to further high quality context-relevant backlinks, traffic, opt-ins and sales. And it's actually likely that articles producing that outcome will have a lower CTR than some others.

Aiming for the highest possible CTR is not necessarily the wisest course of action. It's tempting, because if you look at it only superficially, it seems like the logical corollary to the obvious starting-point that if you have no CTR at all, then you also have no traffic and sales. But it really isn't. Many aspects of internet marketing are counter-intuitive. A high CTR will bring you the most short-term traffic, not the most longer-term buyers, nor the best SEO benefits for your site.

In article marketing, it's really important to measure your results according to your bank balance, not your CTR.

The problem with the "fast-traffic, highest-CTR, hit-and-run, rinse-and-repeat" model of article marketing is the "rinse and repeat" part: it doesn't really lead to any stable, increasing, residual income from your work: it works only as long as you keep rinsing and repeating. There are better ways of building a real business through article marketing, without aiming specifically at increasing your CTR and assuming that doing so will necessarily be beneficial (which it may well not be). I'm just saying ...
