I have a small list of around 10,100 subscribers at this point - mainly made up of newbies. So I'm always on the hunt for good newbie-friendly products for them. It's stunning to me how many marketer's claim that their systems are newbie-friendly and then delve into using IM jargon - often right on the SALES page...or worse they claim that the system is newbie-friendly and then when the person buys the book the same problem occurs. Hunting for products suitable for REAL newbies with NO IM experience is a daunting task. So far, the short list of people who appear to REALLY understand newbies based on my experience includes: James Jones Michael Brown Adeel Chowdry Matt Levenhagen James Jones is especially good at being able to provide many COMPLETE plans, scripts, and resources in fairly short amounts of space. I've seen a lot of products that start with a sales letter claiming they have many systems that can take a complete internet newbie with NO internet experience and show them how to make money quickly and claim to provide complete details. They don't. They either say things like "sell your services" - with no details - or they use all kinds of IM jargon with no explanations. I'm just curious as to what causes this phenomenon? Have people forgotten what NO experience really means? Have people forgotten what full, detailed plans mean? Apparently the four marketers listed at the top of this list haven't. What is going on here? Frustrated newbie-friendly product-hunter. |

Hi Mark, First things first. I'm working on something right now that will provide tremendous value for newbies. You will likely hear from me soon about it. To your point....most marketers do not think about their audience nearly enough. Even when they say their products are appropriate for - or even designed for - newbies it is often disappointing to see far too many assumptions being made about the skill and experience level of the customer. I applaud you for being a filter for your list - for not selling out and making sure they only get introduced to products/services through you that will meet them where they're at and actually benefit them. Best regards, Ken |

Hi mark, I agree, people need to dumb it down. When i first started out i had no idea what PPC or any other jargon was. It took weeks of e-mails from my sponsor to explain my program. People need to create good instructions for their new guys so they can make a clean start! |

Boy, I am glad to be getting these responses. I review SO many products and most of them are just not workable at all for this list. |

1) It's a COMPLETE and organized system with little to distract newbies away from their primary goals. 2) Wealthy Affiliate has a lot of great information but when I left it was heading towards information overload. And of course they have an excellent forum, but so does CampaignBlasts and the difference is the CampaignBlasts forum is specifically TIED into the system taught, where as WealthyAffiliate tends to be a bit more all over the map. | |

Hi Mark, I'm an older newbie...with very little IM skills..over the past year I have seen those sales pages that tell you their product is "newbie friendly". When I buy the product I found out they don't cover how to put up a blog or you have to write a bunch of articles etc. So I stopped buying those products and now send a PM to ask how newbie friendly the products really are based on not having many skills..to their credit they will tell me this product is not for you... I think going back to basics would help. I think you need to be a good teacher to teach us the how to stuff. Not all folks who can write a great sales page or can create great blogs can or know how to teach. I can tell you there are lot of older newbies like myself out here just lurking and we have more money than time. By time I mean were not 25 ...we need to get moving and to be able to find the right product or forum for newbies where you can learn all the skills you need would be helpful. On a forum where you have experienced writers or folks who can help you build a website or folks who can teach you how to write good articles and anything else we need to get a site up and learn how to make money from it. Folks can freakout when they hear others talking about PPC,adsense, adwords,SEO etc.. But I have learned alot by being at the WF and will make it some day... |

I totally agree. There are some people who are so new they don't even know how to set up a blog, or some who don't even know what a blog is. While most products don't need to be that basic, you certainly have to take a person's experience into consideration. I look at it like this: most newbies need some very basic steps that can help them make money right away with very little learning of new skills. Once they get some small successes, then they can move on to bigger, better (and more complicated) things. They need step by step instructions. They don't need a whole lot of info - they can learn that later. This is JMHO. |
