Fiverr for voiceover?

I'd like to have some of my articles created as audio and I need a female voice. Has anyone used Fiverr for voiceovers and do they do a good job? Any recommendations for a particular female voice?

Also, most will do 2, maybe 3 minutes for five bucks. How many words make up 2 or 3 minutes?

Thanks.

Mike

fiverr is pretty hit and miss. For 5 bucks I would say try your luck, and if you find a good provider then send all your articles her way. If you don't then no great loss.

I've been thinking about using fiverr for voice over as well. It really is a hit and miss. I think Elance or Odesk would be a better place to go for this. Though you could try posting a gig suggestion and saying what you need. I have had a huge response doing that for some jobs that take up to two hours. Also ask for voice samples and decide what voice you like more.

You can try fiverr, but you cannot be sure if you get good results or not. However, you can try posting a project on freelance websites like oDesk.com or vWorker.com.

It can be great, look for people who have videos so you can hear them speak, or ask for samples of audio so you can hear what they sound like.

This! Look for people who have a video/audio in their gig description so you can hear the quality of their recordings.

I've bought about 2-3 voice-over jobs from Fiverr and I was very satisfied with the results.

Listening to samples of the person's voice over work is likely the only way you will ever know for sure as to whether or not their voice sounds good. Also, you will have to consider if the tone of their voice is right for your product or service.

Often you get what you paid, but if you're lucky enough - there are certainly good ones out there!

I looked that up once and found that for two minutes of audio you're looking at around 380 words.

Not sure how accurate that is but you could time yourself reading a 400-500 word article to get an idea.

I've used it successfully and was quite happy with results. There are certainly some excellent deals.

This one for example is cheap ($15 for up to 5 minutes):
    https://www.fiverr.com/wam_bam/voice...27075118852260

This lady is more expensive but I liked the voice too, It's calmer and more hypnotic.
    https://www.fiverr.com/elsproduction...70401817339160

For our projects we actually ended up using the cheaper version as I preferred the more energetic voice.

    800 words - 4 minutes.

Fiverr is filled with both good and bad sellers. You just have to know how to pick the right one. I've seen very good female voice overs though, and they do a great job.

I just got an audio file back from a guy there, he was supposed to just reduce the noise and make it 'pop' but instead he squished it to a point it was unbearable to listen to....he had great reviews too...but for music.

I'm guessing he has one preset he runs music through because he clearly doesn't 'really' know what he's doing.

I got adobe audition...AMAZING product...and just did it myself.

But for voice overs there are some pretty cool sounding people on there. Good luck!

I also had a few gigs ordered for voiceover but I would say I had mixed experience. Also just analyzing the gig page voiceover doesn't always mean thats what you are going to get because I had an experience where the seller did a voiceover which was not even close to being the same voice as the one on his gig page. You could tell that from the tone, quality and accent.

Anyways good luck finding a good seller as they have some very good voice over artists too but their prices are obvioously higher.

    My two cents worth.
