You can get adwords for a penny (I did a blog post on it).

Also why would you pay, free is better (targeted) and still here after you are gone.

    Cheers,

I'd be very very cautious about buying traffic. I did this a few times when I first started internet marketing years ago and I was scammed with it more than once. A lot of the time people simply send bots to your site to register hits but that won't do anything as far as sales/readership will go.

You'd probably be better offer buying a solo ad from someone with a list relating to your niche. There is a joint ventures section on this forum where you can find people with large lists and you can pay them to send your promo which can bring traffic to your site.

yes, as they say you get what you pay for, but not always, I have a client that just recently put about 300 bucks into traffic, it was to be targeted, they ended up with some robot traffic, no sales, no optins, no results, just 300 bucks down the drain.

You can buy traffic all day long but most of the time what you get is fake or made to appear as real the only measurement is if you get results.

    Results equals sales.

Paid traffic can be a good thing or it can be a terrible thing. It all depends on your expectations of what you want out of the paid traffic?

I'll give you two examples, one is for a "decent" use for bought traffic and the other a "bad" use of purchased traffic.

        First the "good".
Lets say you've got a site that has about a years worth of age on it and you dump 75,000 hits of non-targeted traffic at the site over the course of 3 months you will raise your Alexa ranking and if you ever decided to sell that site it would have a better Alexa ranking which would push the price of the site up.

        The "bad".
UN-targeted traffic will 99.9% not convert into sales, sign-ups or anything else. It might work for some CPA offers and perhaps some CPC but if you think you're going to make a "killing" by selling to these "bought traffic" folks then you are going to be very disappointed.

I love paid traffic. I just started buying traffic the last few months and have been very happy with it. There are plenty of Warriors that make a living with paid traffic.

        Hey man,

I'll let you know right now that the place to buy traffic is Facebook Ads. Go get your butt on there and start buying traffic through CPM, don't pay for clicks. That is the secret to FB Ads right now.

Another little gold nugget is to promote ads to your fan page and drive them to a capture page on your Fan Page using FBML and what not.

If you wanna know more, just shoot me a PM or reply to this message and we'll talk.

        It's extremely solid.

There is one other thing that purchased traffic, in my experience, can earn you some decent money but you have to be careful in the way you go about doing this.

If you write articles for any of the content sites that pays per views and you buy 75,000 hits over the course of several weeks then you will make some decent money.

Just set up a static page, you can do wordpress if you want but that's overkill for this.

On the page you just do a mirror page of your writers profile page and send the traffic there so when they click through to the article, and many of them will click through, then the content company can't track where the hits came from originally and they can't ban you from their network because the referrer will be your little static page. Just remember to keep it updated every time you have a new article published.

This may be a bit "Black Hat" but I honestly don't think so. The content company wants traffic and if someone from your purchased traffic clicks through to an article of yours then the CPA or "cost per action" is validly completed as the person actually clicked through to your article without being forced to do so.

I have found that if you have at least a few articles on a variety of subjects, perhaps 20-30 minimum, then just about every single bit of the traffic you bought will find an article the find interesting enough to click through to.

I don't know how others feel about this but if you can buy a very large amount of untargeted traffic for a really good price then you can easily double or triple your money doing this method.
