My Ideas on a 'Proper' Autoresponder Sequence

I've got this one dude that gives away tons of plr and stuff and seems like he hits me twice a day...he's giving me free stuff, but damn, that's too often!

And then there are the peeps that hit you with an affiliate product every time but they keep it to once a week or so...

And then there's the 'freaky friday' and the 'thirsty thursdays' that don't say much and just give you a link without explaining what you're getting or where you're going and just give you a link without any idea of why you should click it...

Guys, I'm deleting you left and right, get a grip on what you're doing!

Everybody says the money is in the list, but if you don't know what to do with your list it's useless!

I've always been taught that a person has to see something seven times before whatever...well, whether that's true doesn't matter I guess...

But I'm thinking contact your people every 4-5 days, give them some good content each time, and don't EVEN try to sell them anything until after the 6-8th contact, give them something of value first...

The only way your list is worth a crap is if you use it to build a relationship.

Don't run me off before I have a chance to hear what you have to say.

I think it depends on the nature of your market and on what your competitors are doing.

For example, in the internet marketing world, just like you said, I'd absolutely stick to the one or two emails per week strategy.

    Why?

The typical prospect won't be on my email list alone. He'll most likely be in 20 to 30 more marketers email lists.

And I from experience know what that ends up being for the prospect. 2 emails from each of them per day, every day... thats 40 emails per day... every day. How will they even choose what to read? They simply dont have time to go through them all... So what will they choose? Obvious. Mine

    Why?

It's rare. It stands out. While every other marketer sends 10 messages a week, Im sending 1. When my email comes in, the prospect doesnt have to choose to read or not to read.. He just reads it. It goes beyond the "if he mails me once a week, it must be important". Its more like a subconscious thing. While when all the other emails come he has to choose which to read based on the carefully written headlines, when this one comes, because its fresh and new and different and rare, he just opens it... even if its just to forget temporarily that he has to go through and sort out the rest of the confusion in his email inbox. Provide him with value and hell start getting excited with your stuff and always looking forward to getting one of your emails.

On the other hand, provide him with ****less info or and endless # promotions and eventually hell just categorize you as one of the other ****ty marketers whose list hes on.

So ya.. In the end its all about providing value. Take Early to Rise for example. they mail each and every day, sometimes more than once and they are where they are.

The frequency with which you mail and all that stuff just helps the major purpose... to deliver value, create rapport and build a relationship that brings you money.
