How To Keep People From Stealing Your Ideas?

I came up with a really good idea for a cellphone application and I want to get programmers to bid on it but i don't want other people to steal my idea. How do I find a programmer on a site where they bid on projects without have the programmers steal my idea?

... have them sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before you reveal any of the program specifications.

You can list a set of criteria needed; (might need to do some research); before they post a bid. Check out some of the bigger company job listings and you'll get a good gauge of how to list a job opening without actually saying "what" the job is.

An NDA is certainly in order. However, that won't prevent people from stealing your ideas, it will only give you civil recourse when you actually CATCH them having stolen your ideas.

If you can, give as little details as possible to the open public.
Then, when you have chosen who to work with, you can tell this person your whole project.
I don't know if this will be possible with your project, but sometimes the 'missing link' will prevent them to steal your idea and make it work.
      Good luck!
