Looking for OFFLINE BUSINESS data online.

Hey warriors!

I have a project that needs USA business data (company name, address, contact, phone and email) for traditional brick and mortar locations in defined zip codes.

I have looked at infoUSA but they seem expensive, and well, limited.

Does anyone have a great online source to buy such data in the USA?

Thanks in advance!

What about using the yellow pages for now? You can get all that info, although sometimes not the email address. And Its free

Thanks! I thought that at first for testing purposes...

... but VERY labor intensive. We are seeking all registered businesses with a location in that demo and in one search in one suburb there were 3000+ records! This may need to spread quickly....thousands of records per week.

I believe goleads.com has the ability to limit by zip code. And I think Hoovers.com has a service like that also.

If you want to have up-to-date data like Hoover and similar services, you need a bigger budget than that what you would have paid at infoUSA - if you "just" need addresses, go with goleads .

You can also buy Chamber of Commerce directories in any city although every salesperson does that too so those businesses get an unusually high number of sales calls and mailings.

Also, a Chamber directory would probably leave out many businesses. What % of brick & mortar businesses join the CoC?

Goleads does what the OP asked for, can also search by SIC codes, keywords, etc. I don't think their data includes email addresses (at least I don't see that mentioned on their site), but I'd be wary about using those anyway with businesses who didn't know me.

Hi Diego, Thanks for the tip on the SRDS. My library has a copy which I can read for free.

How much does it usually cost to purchase a list on the SRDS? I am looking to do a mailing for my wife's business, a hair salon, and I want to give her an estimate on the cost for mailing a sales letter.

    PMGGuy,

You might look at MelissaData (dot com). I have used them in the past and was happy with them. I used them to obtain all business info for an area of about 150,000 people. I obtained business info first to make sales to and then purchased the resident info in the area.

If you can view it publicly in the library, you should be able to copy it as well. Most libraries will have a fee for copying - a nickel a page or so usually.

You can always outsource it to any mailing list company - not always is the list you need already built. Look up Mailing lists and talk to those companies. They can tell you if they have the appropriate list available or whether they will need to compile one for you.
