Aweber vs. iContact? or maybe something else?

Hey guys,

I need your help..
Which autoresponder service you use and why?
Which one is better in your opinion?
We're currently using icontact in one of our niche businesses but I'm wondering if aweber is better?

The reason I ask is I plan on starting to build a list in IM niche
and I wanted to hear your opinion which one should I use for that and why?
Or maybe non of the above?

Thanks

I use both iContact and AWeber depending upon the
      situation.

If you'd have asked me the question last week, I would
      have said AWeber, hands down.

However, after the recent data compromise at AWeber
      I'm not 100% sure.

iContact is very simple to use and allows for some neat
      list segmentation.

I am like shaun on this one I had been
preaching aweber for the roof tops.
After this compromise though I am now
huddling in a corner wondering what
    happened to my favourite autoresponder!
I have an interview with Justin from aweber
next week and hope to get to the bottomo of it
and find out what they are doing in the future
to prevent this attack and other attack again

For the moment I don't have a great deal of
experience in Icontact but the experience I
have had has been a good one, It was easy
to use and easy to segment lists which is
a vital part to my email marketing
strategy's and plans for myself and my clients.

I did not find it as easy to navigate and use as aweber
however after the recent hack scare the
future of how safe aweber can be is unsure and
uncertain. So for now I would say stick with 1contact
that way you wont have the problem of being with the
    biggest company in autoresponders.

Therefore the more likley it is to get hacked
because supposed according to my ethical hacking
friend that works for the police they get a kick out
    of the challenge.

Now to throw a spanner in the works I use different
autoresponder services personally as each counteracts
the others disadvantages depending on the purpose
    I need them for.

    Josh

The obvious ones are Aweber, GetResponse, and iContact.

The one a little off the beaten path is IMNicaMail. Do a quick search in for Richelo and IMNicaMail and then form your own decision. I like their price structure, the ability to pay with Paypal, and the personal touch.

I notice the big guys like Jason Fladlien and Lee McIntyre use Infusionsoft
so I'm sure it must be good
but it's a bit out of my price range
and there's no point to spend so much on AR when you're getting started

so I think I'll stick with iContact for now.

Lee McIntyre uses Infusionsoft for his shopping cart,
affiliate program and initial follow-up autoresponder
series, but he actually uses iContact for his e-mail
        broadcasts.

I prefer aweber (actually profollow which is a white label of aweber and cheaper) over all others.

I use infusionsoft mainly for the affiliate program. The reason I don't dump into icontact like Lee does is because too much effort for me to keep track of

Infusionsoft is ok on deliverability but it has a lot more functionality for segmentation than aweber. The email is expensive as well... I spend four figures a month just sending out email.

Thanks for calling me a "big guy". I take that as a compliment

Co-creator of WP Twin. Perhaps the most expensive yet most reliable wordress cloning tool on the market. We've definitely been used more successfully than all other options :)

Don't forget 1ShoppingCart. Good for when starting out as they give a 30 day trial - was free, now I think it's a couple bucks. Plus it also has the shopping cart with it.

    Getresponse.

I dumped aweber after the way they handled the first attack and now a new one this week? I can't say I'd ever use them again.

Getresponse does have a starter account for under $10.

Are there any differences between profollow and aweber on the inside?
The have exactly the same features?
    Is the interface the same?
it looks different on the outside

The Private Label versions of AWeber such as ProFollow
are using the old software that used to run AWeber a
couple of years ago - adequate but not the latest.

New accounts with AWeber have the AWeber Analytics
functionality which allow you to track who clicks (or doesn't
click) on your message links, etc. Plus much more.

The difference in price structure reflects the difference in
features and benefits available from each option.

      They are distinctly different offerings.

I was with iContact until a couple of months ago, and it is real simple to use. I managed it and that says a lot. I've never used Aweber so can't comment as to whether their service is easier/better...

The only reason I cancelled iContact was because I planned on giving up the whole list building thing. Just not my cup of tea I guess. I've since gone on to sign up with Imnica Mail, so maybe I'll aquire the taste for it.

I use Aweber for the following features:

    Auto-responder
    Opt-in
    Unsubscribe
    Webforms
    Click through tracking
    Social media integration

There are several more features, of course. These are just the ones that I find the most useful/necessary.

I personally think they are both good to use, the only reason why I switched from Aweber to Icontact is down to the fact of been able to import contacts which Aweber doesn't do! Like Jason said though it does take more time to monetize etc
