Thank you for the hint, as usual it's a classic good AdAge report.

However, I think it has very limited usefulness for 95% of the Warriorforum users.

It deals with "branding" and not "direct response" usage of the Internet as done by Internet marketers here.

Or you can use "Brand Response" which is a combination
of branding with direct response methods so that your
marketing generates trackable results AND builds your
      brand at the same time.

Thank you Shaun, interesting concept, it has been descripted in the early Nineties by Rapp & Collins with their Maximarketing book (enlightening).

Generally, I believe with marketing it's more a "matter of style" and I prefer using the terms that most people use. Inventing new words sound great at first, but if it doesn't catch up, it becomes useless and hides maybe a great concept behind it.

Case in point is CRM, a field I worked in for some years. It was hot back in late Nineties, but then it became stale and now it's almost shameful to talk about it. And it's BS because CRM is nothing else than database marketing that's nothing else than 150 year old direct marketing, applied mostly to clients (and not prospects) and with the power of modern and cheap client server technologies. And it works, if properly applied.

So I stick with Branding and Direct Marketing, but I totally agree with your concept.
