Kindly Advise - Website Not Indexed Till Date

Hi

I had put up a site on low carb food and weight loss diets around 2-3 months back. Here is the url:
Food Low Carb, Weight Loss Diets

Here are some stats:
  • Alexa Rank - 328,952
  • Pages indexed in Bing - 49
  • Pages indexed in Yahoo - 13
  • Backlinks according to Bing - 43
  • Backlinks according to Yahoo - 1
The SeoQuake Firefox plugin list the following stats -
  • Yahoo links - 294
  • Yahoo linkdomain - 544
  • Bing Index - 49
  • Delicious index - 1
  • Robots.txt - Yes
  • Sitemap - Yes
  • Internal links - 28
  • External links - 40
The funny, and sad, fact is that even with all these stats, there is NO page indexed in Google, and hence NO backlink according to Google.
Searching for "http://www.foodlowcarb.com" gives 4,650 results, "www.foodlowcarb.com" gives 5350 results and "foodlowcarb.com" gives 4130 results.

The article are rewritten and posted on site. Two days back, I used the feedwordpress plugin and used the feed from Yahoo health news to publish articles. The articles are auto posted to twitter using the twitter wp plugin, and also installed is the onlywire plugin.

I have not done any major article marketing so far though have submitted some articles, not to the top sites, did directory submission along with profile creation. It is really frustrating to see that all these has not yielded any result so far in terms of getting pages indexed in Google. Have also submitted to search engines. Though I did not expect top SERPS in Google, the least I would have expected to have pages indexed in Google, where as a few backlink checker tools give the backlinks at around 300.

Would be really grateful for any help and advice on what steps to take so that my site gets indexed in Google, and steadily increases its rankings, and PR.

Thanks in advance

Anil Pandey

I don't really know what is wrong with your site. I got mine indexed a few days back within 24 hours just by submitting the url to digg.com. Maybe you have to try it.

Are you sure your robots text file is not blocking Google? Does your stats show that google bot has visited your site?

That's the first thing I would check. It looks like you know your way around setting up a site and perhaps you just forgot to make sure to allow the bot.

      Here is the robots file:

      User-Agent: * Allow: / User-Agent: Googlebot Disallow: */trackback/ Disallow: */comment-page-1/ Disallow: */tag/

The stats in my webmasters account are a total washout. Nothing at all.

Thats what hurts more. I created a free blog Individual Health Insurance on Oct 16 and posted some articles on it. It has already got 9 indexed pages in Google. Pretty frustrating, compared to the earlier one.

Hmmmm, Would it have anything to do with you posting profiles on all kinds of websites to try to get backlinks which are totally unrelated to your site and could be seen as trying to trick Google?

It appears the profiles were even created using some kind of tool since some of the names look "manufactured".

I'm guessing Google has decided to penalize your site.

I honestly don't know. But not sure if that could be the case.
Every forum member uses his sites in his signature, and usually any forum is not related to ALL of the sites in signature link. Going by this logic, all members who have a site in their signature link, which is NOT related to IM, should have their site penalized. And I'm sure, even here we can find so many sites in signatures which are not related to IM but are not banned. Even a few of my signature sites would fall in that category and they would have been penalized, but they are not.

      But I'm no expert.

It appears that this domain has a prior deindex penalty applied to it. You apparently purchased in on July, 2 2010 but the domain was previously active from 2007. It may have been used for spamming or simply for advertising **** or other weight loss products in a way that Google doesn't like (see this
Domain Tools Whois page). There is no WayBack history so we don't know for sure.

You can apply for reconsideration if you really want to keep the site. Before you do that, I suggest removing all advertising and make sure that the site looks attractive and has very good content, especially on the first page. Understand though that it is likely that your site won't be reindexed even after this, especially since it's in a suspect field like weight loss.

The alternative is to keep building good authority links to the site and wait. You may end up waiting over a year though for the site to be reindexed. On domains like this that I've bought it's generally been 6 to 12 months. If the site hasn't been automatically reindexed by then, I dump it rather than renewing it.

    Anil,

I'm going back to what I said before, Google caught you, they penalized you. It's pretty simple.

If you are going to create profiles in bulk with user names like "2fbsqambrse3" scattered all over the internet it is going to be very obvious, and you are opening yourself to getting penalized. Your site may come back into the indexes, or it may not.

That name happens to be on an auto racing site. If it only took me 1 minute to do a search and discover you are attempting to manipulate Google, then how long do you think it will take Google? It might take them more than a minute, but you left an ugly trail.

    Barry

P.S. My advice, just let the site sit, work on other things, watch for it to show back up in the indexes.

P.P.S. BGMACAW, what I'm finding was done in August of this year. Since it was penalized before it is even more apparent why it just was hammered again, or has remained unindexed.

I had spent a lot of time and efforts on this site, and had pinned great hopes on it. Seems my hours and hours have gone down the drain... I had applied for reconsideration as well, but nothing seemed to have happened.

Yes, these could be the reasons, other wise there is no reason why my insurance blog has now 9 pages indexed in Google and 3 pages indexed in Yahoo, all within 3 days!

Going both by your and bgmacaw's post, I think this seems to be the most sensible thing to do. But it hurts to think that all the efforts were just wasted, or misdirected. But better to look elsewhere instead on keeping at something which leads no where.

Thanks a lot to both of you.

Does it also mean that profile creations are something to be totally stayed away from?

May be I should now focus on something more involving, like product creation. Or may be look for some mentor.

No, not at all. If Google penalized sites merely for profile links it would be very simple to get your competitors penalized or deindexed by using these links to their sites.

You could get some of those hours back by moving the site to another domain, and starting promotions from scratch...

This time, don't piss off the Big G with shady promotion techniques...

If you've been busted by Google, register a better domain, start again and build your business properly by creating valuable content, link building from authority sites and engaging activity in your blog.

Build your list to compliment your blog.

Change your mindset and approach from short term quick fix to long term strategic building.

Anil's issue is found in his robots.txt file, read it carefully...

Notice that he currently has the Googlebot in the Disallow mode. He is telling the Google not to crawl his site.

        It should be:

        User-Agent: * Allow: / User-Agent: Googlebot Allow: */trackback/ Disallow: */comment-page-1/ Disallow: */tag/

Of course, he may need to make other changes to his robots.txt file, but that change will allow him to get indexed.

Also, a quick scan of his website and I've got to ask, "What's with all of the outbound links? Is this some sort of new SEO model to divert traffic to competitor's sites? Please help me to understand that move sir.

Barry, this issue has been discussed, dissected and debated en masse. I promise you this, if profile BLs or any BLs for that matter were able to cause a site to be de-indexed, I'd do XRumer and UBot runs on ALL of my competitor's websites until they begged and pleaded for someone to buy their now useless domains for $8.99.

Yukon, I have some of the same and uh, hmmm, couldn't that be classified as case study sites. I've tested sites with nothing but Article Marketing. I've tested sites with nothing but Social Bookmarking. I've tested sites with nothing but Profiles. I've tested sites by launching them and hammering them with an onslaught and barrage of BLs to see what the envelop was. And none of the stuff people warned me would happen, happened.

One thing I've noticed about IM is this; people often treat IM like politics. They take staunch position against or for a particular strategy, trick, tactic, software application or guru because of what they heard.

        BUT...
        • They have performed no case studies on the subject.
        • They have performed no tests on the issue.
        • They have not used the software in question.
        • They have not spoken with the guru in question.
But listening to them and you'd think they've done all the above plus.

My point being is; it's probably better not to say something doesn't work or does work until you have properly analyzed and tested it on you own.

Anything I create for backlink purposes has one thing in common. It always provides value.

I do not sign up on sites which are not ones I plan to use. I post only articles which are consistent to my niche. I create additional web properties which are consistent with my niche.

On blog commenting I do stray out of my niche into other areas on blogs I want to read anyway. If I comment I point to one of my active blogs even if it is not in my niche.

"IF" I were going to create profiles for backlinks, I would want to be using a legitimate name and only in sites which were at least legitimate in my niche, or were ones I'm interested in. Then I can drop in on occasion and actually leave a comment or a post.

I much prefer creating a profile on forums which are active and I will participate in. Then I can use my signature line and profile to create a link to my site.

I'm guessing there are people who will tell you they have great success building profiles like you did, but if you are going to do it, I would highly recommend you make it look more "real".

My theme is this, If I'm going to put in on the internet it needs to provide value to someone. If it will not provide value to a reader, then I'm not going to do it.

Which particular plugin are you referring to? There seem to be tons of plugins on Google sitemap. If you can point out the exact one, I could try that.

Currently I have XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress 3.2.4 installed.

Anil, that's going to resolve your indexing issue with Google. Your site is already indexed in Bing and Yahoo.

That said, I'm still curious, is there a method to your current setup of having all of those OB BLs?

Russell, you definitely zeroed in on the issue right from the jump start. It's amazing of the power of Brainstorming!!!
