Putting affiliate links in free-ebook works?

I actually don't know that exactly this thing works or not. I am running a website and I am thinking to offer free ebook, filled with quality content, and put affiliate links in it.

Anyone tried this? or this strategy works? If I hit different type of niches then will it work?

    It's a strategy that's been going ever since ebooks were invented.

    Yes it works as long as your not too blatent about it, or you're upfront about reccomendations etc

    Yes, it does work, but I prefer to just get the customer on my list first off. To make any money by putting links in your ebook you will have to distribute a lot of them. If you can make your ebook viral then it is easier.

    I think putting affiliate links in ebook it will be great idea. I am also doing this and it works better.

    I've been making money from affiliate links added to eBooks since 2004 and I still receive payments from a very old eBook that was created back then. Let me tell you it works.

    If you're creating an eBook you want others to distribute give them all the tools they need to make distributing it as easy as possible such as graphics, eBook covers and a sales page is it's going to have resale rights.

    Also, if you allow some links inside to be branded there will be more incentive for others to distribute.

    I have branded and distributed 100s of eBooks over the years and I still get affiliate payments from these branded links almost on a daily basis.

    This is a great promotional method, even better when the affiliate links/ text is related to, and complements the book content.

    I have used it with some success, both in paid and free ebooks. As long as what you're recommending is relevant and helpful, why not get paid for making a valid recommendation?
