Clickbank Vendors - Build It and They (Affiliates) Will Come?

Hey people,

I've got a quick question to ask...

We all know Clickbank is by far the best place to sell digital goods because of the sheer amount of affiliates they have at their disposal...

But let's say you're a 1st time vendor... You release your product along with a plethora of affiliate promo tools and you're ready to take in orders.

Assuming that you have an excellent offering, sales copy, design and affiliate tools, how long does it typically take for affiliates to take notice of your offering and begin promoting your product? (if at all)

In other words, if you build it will they come?

Any help on this topic is appreciated.

Brent

You have to actively seek out affiliates. You can post in various jv forums, other Internet marketing forums. You have to let other people know that your product exists.

I'd promote the affiliate program just like your promoting your product. Don't depend on affiliates to find you

As already said, they won't find you unless you actively seek them out. Or, you have killer gravity.

It is definitely NOT as easy as just putting up an offer and having the affiliates start promoting it in full force. Usually what happens is you'll get a handful of affiliates that will start promoting it because it is new but if their conversion is poor they will quickly move on to something else.

There are two things you can do, you can either recruit affiliates by doing research and emailing them telling them how they will benefit from promoting your product instead of your competitors or you generate your own sales initially to raise your gravity. Nothing makes affiliates swarm to your product like a rising gravity on Clickbank.

There are certain things you need to consider before you worry about trying to get affiliates promoting your product. You first need to test it out yourself and make sure the product actually sells and returns enough profit per click that it will be worth affiliates time to promote your product. If you can't make the product profitable yourself when buying PPC traffic, etc then there is no way your affiliates will when you are only paying them at most 75% of each sale.

Only after you have tested and tweaked the product to maximize its profit should you bother looking for affiliates. If you start trying to get affiliates promoting a dead product then you will very quickly ruin your reputation and find it very hard to ever build up any sort of affiliate army.
