I would like to talk a bit about autoplaying videos vs the regular "click to play" videos. Which do you guys like more, and what factors should be considered?

What people like and what works best aren't always the same thing. Most people will tell you they don't like autoplay and that they HATE the videos without the controls, but that doesn't mean they don't work better. You need to test things on your own and don't rely on what people tell you they like or don't like.

I guess I should have asked what trends or results others have seen. I understand the underlying principles behind the most important copywriting elements but not video play settings.

I think animoto has the best free video service, they can spin you a vid unlimited times for free, try it

It seems a common dislikes of autoplay (from that link) was the sound catching you by surprise. maybe this could be softened by starting the video with low or no sound (just visual movement) and ramping it up. Just food for thought.

I run a video membership site and I produce both types of videos for my members...
autoplay and click to play.

autoplay has it's uses...
If the user is visiting a page where they are expecting to hear and see a video
it works pretty well.

When i'am browsing around the net and I bump into an auto play video I hate it. I know I won't buy the product but i still have to sit there and listen to all the hype etc...

I like to fast forward to the good bits and see what all the fuss is about.

I used mostly auto-play for squeeze pages and sales pages. For other videos on my sites and blogs, no.
