Default Linking Back to WebPage Article from Article Site - Stupid?

I want to get some deep links pointing at some of my subpages ( which contain articles)

So I was thinking of taking the articles from the subpages and submitting them to high PR article directories (like GoArticles).

In the author bio, it would link back to the original article.

Is this OK to do ?

The viewer would be seeing the article twice, but... I do not really care about the viewer, and simply want the backlink.

Hi

Why not link back to a different article on the subpage?

I believe it is OK to do so, but the link juice may be decreased using duplicate content... need confirmation.

However, it is not hard to rewrite article, why not rewrite and give them some "spin"? You get a lot better result!

I highly recommend ArticleMarketingAutomation, you get in-content link that give more link power as in comparison to normal link.

From my own experience, linking back DOES work.

I've been surprised by how often I've got to No.1 position for my article title, above Ezinearticles and the others, but ONLY in Google. MSN and Yahoo don't seem to respond in the same way to that kind of backlinking.

The only true test is to actually try it out.

But try different variations...
-Exact copy & same title (control)
-Change title & same copy
-New title & rewrite

That's 1 different article for each test.

I am going to try it out right now!

I routinely do link backs to internal pages (deep linking) but I link back to pages that offer different content (which could be just a rewrite of the article with some product promotion built into the website version) or a product for sale related to the article...

I generally find that when I do this with say ezinearticles - if my article on their site gets to page 1 on google, my web page is generally also on page 1 or two of its main keyword phrase (which is what the link from the EA article used.)

Hi

Maybe I've been doing it wrong then! I usually link to a different article.

If I was a reading an article and clicked a link which took me to exactly the same article I wouldn't bother scrolling down and see it had a different resource box, I'd just think it was a mistake and move on.

Maybe I've got more to learn than I thought about backlinking.

Mary, you're absolutely correct - why see the same thing twice? - but what we're looking at here is trying to take hold of the front page of the SERPs and the higher our own page is, the better.

We're only talking about using 1 of your 2 or 3 available backlinks in the article. This isn't your Call To Action link, just one of the other links.

spudzz - do they need to be only linking back to EA?

Sometimes I tend to link back to the same 3 or 4 articles on my site - I take it that isn't the same thing at all is it?

Sorry for showing my ignorance on this topic. I've only started to learn the basics of backlinking in the last week or so.

Basically my question was not for humans, but for the Search engines

I just want to say

"Penname is blah blah blah. To learn more about his site, click here (link to main site. This KEYWORD (anchor link to subpage) article was taken from his site."
