Question about EzineArticles

I am very new to IM, what you call a complete noob. I was into freelancing before and just like I have become a successful freelancer by reading forums and tips I am doing the same for IM.
I have made a site that focuses on various IM tips and ideas and I am not sure how successful it will be. I have started to write and submit articles to ezinearticles and all of my submissions have been accepted so far.
I have heard a lot of people suggesting ezinearticles to get traffic and promotion and my question is regarding this. Does my site's link in the "About Author" section at the bottom of an article count as a backlink? If so how good is it?

Answers to my questions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Yes, your backlinks in your bio box for Ezine articles do count and are "dofollow", meaning they pass on link juice to your sites.

Ezine articles is one of the most trusted and highest quality article directories out there, so their backlinks are quite helpful.

        Welcome to the Warrior Forum!

I've done the following and as a result dominate a Google Video search (48 of first 50 results) for the keyword I was targeting:

        1. Write 10 articles on eZine about your keyword. 10 [something] about [keyword] (you get a neat mug, too!)
        2. Make a video of each article between 3-7 minutes for each article.
        3. Open TubeMogul Account, sign up for EVERY video site (6 or 7) they support (above the 'post to twitter/post to facebook' section)
        4. Make sure the title of the video has [keyword] in title AND file name
        5. Post all 10 videos (1 at a time is OK) to as many TubeMogul supported sites as possible.
        6. MUST HAVE YOUR URL in video description so viewers can click and visit.
In a week, you should have similar results, as you have posted 10 videos to 6 or 7 sites = 70 or so 'different' videos (as far as Google is concerned), all linking back to your site.

        Enjoy!

eZine Articles is definitely a great way to get backlinks and traffic. I get many hits each day from the articles, and from the other blogs they've been published on!

Welcome to the forum. That's a hugely popular area, but an interesting approach for someone who describes himself as a "complete noob" to be focusing on IM advice as his first venture.

Pretty good - exactly as Mr Day says above.

But don't forget to publish your articles on your own site first, before submitting them to EZA. This great thread will be really useful to you, on this point and many others, too. Good luck!

      Thank you all so much.

@Mangozoom - what is writing for clicks?
@MichaelParsons - What do you mean by video of each article? What will the video have?

When I did the 10 I'm referencing, it was just me talking on the subject matter off the top of my head (not scripted). I was on camera, speaking directly to the camera and sitting at the kitchen table, or using my "hockey stick boom" or a legitimate tripod.

I didn't script them because I was talking about an article I wrote from scratch. I had internalized the information.

I have a video relating internet marketing lessons to grocery store. It consists of me narrating 5 of my blog posts with zoom-in and pan-and-zoom video of the products I'm discussing. Not Spielberg, but it doesn't have to be.

You don't have to be "in front' of the camera, you can use images and record a narration. Camtasia has a fully functional 60-day trail, but you can use the Windows Movie Maker (or MAC equivalent) with good results too.

      Pr-6, I think.

But anyway - their home page may be pr-6, Sid, but that doesn't mean that your articles will be on a pr-6 page. And they won't. They'll start off life on a pr-0 page just like any other article in any other directory. Remember: it's called page-rank, not site-rank.

For traffic, the author bio box link is a good one. For SEO (long term search engine organic rankings) it is good but far far far from enough.

I'm surprised that Alexa didn't hit on this but one of the most valuable things about having articles on EZA is that they do wind up getting picked up by other publishers/websites and used as content. Thus your article becomes "syndicated" and you wind up getting additional links on other sites from your articles.

So far I've gotten 332 articles published on other sites according to my EZA stats.

yes, ezine articles I believe is coming a bit out of favor due to their keyword percentage pain in the okole script, but the rss feeds from any article directory really adds some good backlinks. I wish there were a way to guarantee the about the author section on these feeds stayed intact.

Not sure where you got that I was saying that EZA was falling out of favor. They're not with me at all. They're limit on keyword density just keeps folks from submitting articles stuffed with keywords that come off sounding fake and phoney. And as far as jackoffs who set up autoblogs using RSS feeds that don't snag the resource box...there is a way to guarantee that...it's called a DMCA order

This comment has been made light-heartedly once or twice by Google employees: I wouldn't take it too seriously.

            Hi
When submitting articles on ezine, should you submitted all your different niche articles under the same writer name or have a different account for each different topic. I use different accounts for the different niches is this correct.

No, definitely not. You're breaching EZA's terms of service, and are risking getting all your accounts permanently closed by them if/when they find out.

"One account per human" is their rule (and their wording).

You can have different pen-names within one author account, but not more than one author account.

Ezine is a great place to build do-follow backlinks and get some traffic in the process. I always put at least 20 articles up for every site that I build on Ezine and usually see a good flow of traffic and some good link juice from it as well. When the traffic starts to die off I just pound out a few more new articles get them posted and the traffic comes back. The short of it is Ezine is a great and free place to get started promoting your website that will give you traffic and links in one package.

Threads asking how to do Article Marketing come up quite often here - so I have a standard reply - I hope this helps:

Two brilliant threads to read about article marketing are these:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...marketing.html

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...eza-first.html

Read them both - all the way through - and take notes.

For further information I recommend the following directory - It is education in article marketing - a guide book and monthly newsletters - with a directory thrown in! You can read what Warriors think about it here:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...alks-walk.html

Promote My Articles Article Marketing Service

also available as a WSO here:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...g-service.html

I can also recommend the WSO's from this guy:

In particular this one - All people interested in article marketing should study this!

This guy also has some good stuff - some article marketing some on other things

Yes, it will be counted as a backlink for your site as you have given link of your site in author description and it will help you to increase your website PR.
