Hi there

I'M new to the forum and wanted to share a little simple trick to get targeted traffic.

1. Run a search in EzineArticles (or similar) and search for keywords related to your site (i.e. website hosting).

2. You can see which "website hosting" articles have received hundreds or even thousands of views. The more views, the better. Choose an article with a lot of views and look for the comments section.

3. Add a comment that is not considered SPAM and that actually contributes a worthwhile statement about the article. The reason for doing this is because such comments are reviewed. After making your comment, add the url of your website hosting website (or something related to the keywords that you searched for).

Do you just use a name or a keyword phrase, and have it associated with the URL you want...or...do you use a name, not add a URL, but just put a URL in the message body?

I have yet to find comments on articles in EZA where there is a URL in the subject. I have a feeling Ezinearticles will not allow a URL in the subject of the reply, no matter how helpful your comment is. For example, look at the big list of the Top 30.

Am I wrong?

Thanks. That is a good idea. Also, you might be bale to re-inforce backlinks that way. Say you have an article on a squidoo lens or a hubpage that links to your blog or website. You can link the article to that page just to reinforce backlinks, or vice versa...

I realize that getting backlinks is one reason you'd want to do this, but how much traffic have you actually gotten using this? Can you give rough numbers of # of views the article has seen to the amount of traffic you get?

Very nice tip. This works great with ezinearticles because you can find the most viewed articles within the last 30 days at the bottom of each article. I'm kind of bored now so I think I will try it.

  Stuart, there is a form to fill out when you click add a comment. On the form is a space to add a url link, this will automatically show up when your mouse hovers over your name, once the comment is accepted.

Didn't know we could do this. Quite interesting; especially when trying to set up a linkwheel.

Maybe use the comment URL to send over to a HubPage, which goes to a Squidoo page, then to one of your own Ezine articles, and....

  Just got my email from ezinearticles that my test link was accepted!
  
  It took me maybe 2 minutes to get that link and I'm a really slow writer.
  
  Since the anchor text for these links is your name, I won't probably do many of these but it is definitely worthwhile for getting links to inner pages of my sites, especially the ones that are difficult to get one way backlinks elsewhere.
  
  It looks like acceptance is very likely as long as your comment relates to the article you're commenting on and is not overtly spammy.

When it comes to linking strategies be sure to move the links to the site which can damage your rankings. An example of this would be a site that provides a link to a page with hundreds of other links and an authoritative site. If the site does not collect at least 30,000 users or unique visitors per month, depending on traffic to evaluate, consider dropping a link or you can also move down the page. Also be sure to get quality links.

Maybe I'm being blind but I'm finding it incredibly difficult to find ezine articles with thousands of hits. Most have hardly any, some have 100, and more than that well.... maybe I'm looking in the wrong niche or something?

Smart traffic tip.

Another way to siphon traffic is to comment on high traffic blogs.

If you can be the first to comment, even better.
