word to pdf converter

I've googled online word to pdf converter, and haven't found my favorite site that I've used previously.

I just have a simple three page word doc that I want converted into a nice pdf doc.

I no longer have Open Office installed on my desktop computer (sigh).

Can anybody recommend a quick site to use, or perhaps do a quick conversion for me?

Download the free OpenOffice.org software suite, copy your Word document to their text application, then save it as a PDF.

Well, Word has one built in to the best of my knowledge, at least my version does.

Just click the "Save As" button and choose pdf.

Since I found out the OpenOffice does the conversion as one of the options, I haven't touched Microsoft Word! Dont mess with any cheap PDF converters, just get OpenOffice again and call it a day!

Open Office. If you don't want to go through the hassle of installing it again, drop me a line and I'll do the conversion for you. Long-term solution would be to install it again, though.

    Hey Talltom1,

Try cNet.com or this link: download.cnet.com/OpenOffice

To your success. I use Mac and finally found out that you actually had to hit the print button and then it offers you a PDF option.

    Hi Talltom,

If you are using the latest version of Word, all you need to do is click on the Big Button on the left hand side of your screen, scroll down to Save As and choose PDF. Simple and already at your finger tips.

    Cheers Donna

I'm not sure what version of Word you are on, but if it is Word 2007 you will need this plug-in from Microsoft.

One almost instant way of obtaining a PDF of your short document (without installing anything) is to use Google Docs to print your document to PDF. Select File -> Print (PDF) in Google Docs.

This should work just fine in your case, especially since your document is only 3 pages long.

VegasGreg just saved me 10 minutes

I was looking for a PDF creator too for my new report
(which btw you can find in my signature)
And found an older thread in which people
    were also recommending OpenOffice.org

So I was just going to download it when I saw your post.
I checked and my word also had the "Save As A PDF" option.
    So Thanks man.
    I use Word 2010.

It's basically converting a document created in Microsoft Word (with the .doc extension) to Adobe Acrobat format (.pdf extension).

Use PDF995, it also keeps hyperlinks within your document.

Like the rest are saying Open Office is great also if you have a new computer with MS Office Word allows you to save as a .pdf also like everyone else said stay away from other "FREE" on as they normal let you do it but will put the Websites logo on the bottom of each one and you have to pay to for a full version anyway to remove it

    I use "Cute PDF"

    Google it.

You just install in on your computer then you go into Word and click Print.

Just select "Cute PDF" from the printer menu and your done

The output is the best I have used before.

    Cheers,
    Dave
