Hey I'm about to launch a product in the next month, and I would like to know your advice regarding the sales letter. To start with, should I go with video or written sales letter?

I think there is good and bad sides to each of them.

In the past when I've been faced with this decision, sometimes I will do both. They can be included in the same page or split into different pages to give affiliates the choice of which one they want to promote. Personally, I don't see too many people offering a choice, so you may actually get more interested affiliates that way - just a guess though.

      Thanks for your advice!

How could I split test with a cb product? I mean, I only have the link they give me specifically for my product like 1.cb-username.pay.clickbank.net.

How could I know which of the pages, assuming I have one page with video and another with text, is converting better?

I prefer the good old fashioned written salesletter but it depends on what you are selling. For instance something technical or something like a piece of software that needs a demonstration will sell much better with a video because it shows what it can do. If it's an ebook or something that solves a problem I like the written word because in my opinion it is easier to connect with someone on a personal level. Once you have established that connection with them they will feel the call to action and hopefully purchase.

i think it really depends on your personality.

personally i have seen video convert WAY better than a written sales letter... especially if you do a product demo.

to connect with your audience via video:

    - be real, be you
    - help your visitors come to a realization they havent thought of before
    - tell when what you are giving them and why
    - then point to your product and ask for the sale

i just set up a site about this at Easy Video Player Bonus

theres a few webinars about video sales on there

My answer is more about taking action. I believe that you should go with whatever type of salesletter you can get live faster.

Once your product is live and making sales THEN you can go back and create the other type of sales offer and then start your split testing.

To many times debates like this create a type of paralysis that completely kills your momentum.

I say both. Video is great, but sometimes I get frustrated with it because I'm impatient and sometimes get bored and don't watch the whole thing. Video can be very powerful, though.

You'll need a script for your video anyway so I would start by writing a sales letter. Now you can use the sales letter to start making money and you'll already have everything you need for your video script. When your video is ready you can split test.

I would also say both. But you can split test in order to see whick one works best.

Yeah, I think speed of implementation is key. Video is a REALLY great way to get your product launched quickly. Plus, they convert really well when you do them correctly. I can do a video sales letter in a day or so where a written one would take weeks. That's lost opportunity cost. Plus, I've been finding that the video sales letter is converting better. Obviously, you should always test. But I would start with the video sales letter.

I agree with Kim in my experience I've always found it faster and easier to create the copy for a video salesletter. And I also agree with Tanner above, to do what's faster to get the page up and running and then you can tweak it once it's live. You always want to keep the momentum and not debate so long on what the right thing to do is. Sometimes there is no right or wrong, just get going and adjust later

Well, Video works! It convert well. I skip sales letter most of the time, but I watch video most of the time. And therefore in my opinion it converts well.

Thanks for all your advices guys! I really appreciate that.

I'm able to do the video sales letter quicker so I think I will go with video first, and then I'll get a sales letter done and split test.
