Writing Reviews of Amazon Products--A Tip and a Question

Good evening ladies and gentlemen! I have been writing lots of reviews for products that are on Amazon. I am working on a few different niche review sites and am working very hard. I've come up with a couple of tips that have increased my ability to write these articles quickly, and I'd like to share them with you here. I also have a question that I'm hoping someone can give me some ideas with, but first, my tips:

I've got two strategies that can be used separately or together to increase the speed at which you can write reviews of Amazon products.

1) The first thing to do is when you are reading the product description, on a piece of paper just just down positive and negative features. For example: + Cheap +Durable +Lots of good reviews +really stylish -heavy -hard to clean -shipping will be expensive

This shouldn't take you any more than one or two minutes. Just read the description and reviews and see what you come up with. Once you start writing your review, and you get stuck, just glance at the paper and boom, you have a bunch of ideas to reignite your mental fire and get your fingers typing out good content again.

2) I have found that copying and pasting the product description into my word document while I'm typing is a really good way to increase the speed of writing, because I don't have to keep going back to the browser window with the product description to look things up. You'd be surprised how much time that takes!

Ok, so those are my two tips and I hope that you guys like them and that they work well for you.

Now, here is my question: Some products are rather thin on their description, and after writing like 30 reviews of similar products I start to run out of things to say. Some products I end up with like 200 words and then I'm stuck--I've mentioned everything I can think of. However, 200 words isn't really long enough (or is it?). I know that the longer a meaningful review is the better. So can anyone give me tips on where to find more information about the products, or any ideas on how to come up with more stuff to say about a product? Thanks in advance if you have some ideas

Nice tips. I especially like the second one.

As for coming up with more stuff to write about... That's tough. You could Google "TYPEOFPRODUCT faq" and find frequently asked questions about that product (for example, if you're reviewing vacuums, type in "vacuum faq" or "vacuum buying faq"). You'd then address/answer those questions in your review. But since you're apparently writing about similar products, I don't know how far that would get you. Hopefully someone else can help you out more.

      Thanks for the tips!
You might already do this yourself, but when I run a bit short on content I will do a quick research about the brand or manufacturer themselves. A quick check of how long they have been around, their company philosophy and the other types of products they produce can usually give me enough ideas for another paragraph or two.

Wow, thanks Tristan and rmac you guys both gave me some great ideas.

Tristan: When I did that google search (product+faq) what I found out is that a lot of people wanted to know about the safety of the product. You'd think that would be obvious, but I had no clue that this was a concern with this product. Now I can add an additional paragraph about safety to every one of my articles!

rmac: Wow! That is a really good idea. Who makes the product and a little bit about them would really help.
