What to do if you're broke...

Hey guys,

I'm not exactly new in Internet Marketing. But I am broke, broke as in I can't even buy WSO lol. Seriously. Okay, so I'm broke. What should I do? Here my current options

a) Get a job or two or three or four and go gaga on making money. If I do this, obviously I will have money to use for IM. But how much do I need really? $500? $5000?

b) Offer IM services here or to gurus. Are you doing this? Could you please give some tips on how to do this?

c) Make money online - tricky. I've seen an WSO that are about "NO MONEY DOWN". I guess I could do that but with one problem - I can't buy the WSOs. lol

(wwwDOTwarriorforumDOTcom/warrior-special-offers-forum/194211-465-dollars-4-hours-no-wayDOThtml)

d) Other (I'd love to hear your thoughts)

It's difficult to give a lot of help without knowing more about you and what you can and like to do.

What are your skills? Can you write? If you can write you can create a free blog and offer those services - you could also create PLR packages and offer those from a free blog. Your signature here could include a mention of your offers.

You want the honest truth? I would get a job if I had no money. Even work at day labor or a temp service if I had to.

I have done this many times because its a basic principle of life, "if you do not work, you do not eat".

It doesn't matter what kind of work, (as long as it's legal) just work, and save some money and do IM on the side. It will take the pressure of off you mentally for sure.

Nothing is better than being healthy enough to work and then being wise enough to be thankful that you can work.

            Here are some options:
            • Sell your college books to places like Becks Books.
            • Skim the yellow pages for Law Firms ask if they need someone to do some office work.
            • Sell your services such as ghostwriting for other people's product creation.
            • Contact some gurus the proper way and ask if you can interview them and create a product from the interview and sell it as a physical product.

These are some ideas. There are plenty more. You can do odd jobs as well like raking leaves or cutting grass.

            What are your skills?

I forgot to mention one thing to you. Since you are facing a challenging time it is important to stay focus and motivated. Stay in the right mindset by staying positive no matter what and things will eventually will happen.

One last tip, you could put up a crazy youtube video that drives traffic to your website where they can get your really inexpensive but valuable ebook or freebie so that you could build your email list. If your youtube video and product are enticing enough, it might actually work.

    Definitely find a job first...
Internet marketing is not for quick bucks...

You need to have your necessities well taken care of, before you can focus on your IM.

You have go to hustle! Get a temporary job, at least. Get some stable income. Then, look to IM. If you don't have a lot of bills to pay, try offering services online. Article writing, social bookmarking, etc. stuff people don't want to have to do all the time. Give yourself 2 weeks to a month to make some money. If you're not getting enough, go apply at Walmart or something and continue online work part-time. Once it's stable, then quit your job, and only then.

I understand it can be very hard to get even a low-paying job these days, so if that doesn't pan out, just hustle, hustle and hustle to get some gigs online. Once you have done a lot of freelance work and have a budget, then I say branch out a bit and try setting up your own online business.

This game isn't easy, and if you're broke, go for guaranteed money as in offering services or getting a temporary job...

    That's what I would do.

Yep, this is something I did myself when I was little low on cash. If you're not confident enough to offer services to warriors or want to avoid the $20 fee there are some forums out there where you can offer services without having to pay. You'll have to start off cheap, but its a lot better than nothing + you can scale up when you get experience. The feedback you get from customers will indicate how well you are doing.

If you're broke, this is probably the quickest way to make some cash - you can literally get a client within hours.

There are a lot of powerful bum marketing methods out there, as well as free books that you can opt in for.

Are you familiar with article marketing?

Find a product, do some keyword research, and then write some articles and direct link to the landing page.

You can mask your affiliate link with bit.ly or bud url to send to GoArticles and other directories as well as Document Sharing sites.

Or you can pay 99 cents for a .info to redirect traffic to so you can post on Ezine Articles.

At first I sold my stuff like what King Shiloh suggested while waiting for a job. Now I already got a job which I will start first of Nov. And from the money there I'll subscribe to Warrior Forum hehehehehe

Then I can work on my blog after work. If you've read The Alchemist, I think this job is like working with the crystal merchant

  • Ok I am there as well. I do work right at this time. But Since I live in Las Vegas I have access to gifts that I get from the casinos here. So I just go onto an auction site and sell them. Brings in some extra cash.

So if you have things that you no longer use or dont need go to an auction site and sell them. Also if you know enough about creating a product for online use you could also do that.

Sorry to bust any bubbles here but nothing free is gonna earn you a full time income overnight. (Go on, prove me wrong someone. Please.)

First thing to do is get your overheads covered in some way. If you can do that by offering your services here in the WF in some way then great. Otherwise, get a job.

Everything else you require after that can be found in the voluminous WF.

You need to understand man that if you want to do things without any investment then it will require more work. But if you can invest in a few things then it makes it easier and saves you time.

Look at affiliate marketing. You could start out doing the "bum marketing" way which is completely free.

Simply sign up to Clickbank which is free then pick a product (I highly recommend picking one only for starters. Sign up to a site where you can build free webpages and allow your affiliate link without a redirect domain name. The top sites include wordpress, blogger, squidoo (which is a little more tricky), and hubpages also tricky.

Learn everything you can about the topic and the product without buying it. Know the sales page forward and back.

Go to the free keyword tool at google and find a keyword that has to do with your product. Like if it was the Clickbank product Rocket Piano then a great keyword would be "online piano lessons".

Then target that keyword by putting it in all the important places. Then simply produce as much content as you can. Make a post every day or every other day with the keyword sprinkled throughout. Get backlinks from your site through article marketing, and blog commenting. Do all of this until your blog gets ranked and then make a recommendation so that people who are interested buy and you make money. Then rinse and repeat. This whole process has been explained lots of times in a lot of different ways but that is it.

Now lets say you have some money to invest, a conservative $500 like you said. Great!

So instead of free blogs you can set up a hosted site on host gator, blue host, or whatever hosting company. Use fantastico to install a wordpress blogs. Get a keyword resrach tool that tells you the extra info like the strength of competition and commercial intent.

Get an article spinner to spin articles so that all you have to do is copy and paste articles made from that everywhere like the article directories. Invest in a very effective backlink service like BuildMyRank.com (I cannot get over how much I love this service).

Keep building more sites. I mean you can do anything you really put your mind to. I started out article marketing and it worked well for it being free. But then I had money to invest and everything became much faster and easier. Do what floats your boat Johnny.

Just telling someone to "get a job" sounds great, but it's not always possible.

However, I'm not saying that people should just sit around and wait for gold to fall out of the sky. And that's apparently what a lot of people do.

    I've been in this situation.

At a time when I was struggling from week to week and I thought I was about to lose everything, I came across a great book called "The One Minute Millionaire."

I read it faster than any book I had previously read. Not quite in a minute, but once I got into it, I realized that I already had everything I needed to be successful.

I simply needed to harness the power of it, leverage my assets, connections, and get busy with daily activities towards my goals. Within a few weeks we had gone from broke to making more money than I have ever seen in my life.

In fact, I was making $20k a week.

Now you're probably expecting a link to some sales page. Nope.. this isn't an affiliate offer or something like that. This really happened to me.

So my recommendation is to simply do what I did. You may or may not want to read the book... but what I did that made a real difference was I realized that I have EXISTING value, even if I'm not employed. So what are those valuable assets?

Relationships, Knowledge, Influence, Skill, Talent... What do you have to offer?

You probably know how to set up a facebook fan page, twitter page and youtube page for a business. Bam.. you can go out and make $500 to $1000 in consulting. Sometimes much more.

Who do you know? Do they know people that need what you can do?

How can you leverage other people's time, other people's money, and other people's talent to help you achieve your goals?

I know that sounds "evil" but it's not... leveraging means just that... you couldn't lift a car by yourself.. but if you "leverage" a rope, a beam, and your weight, you can probably suddenly lift it!

So... leveraging other people's time means just that. Who can mentor you? Who can help you get started? Who can tell others about what you do? You're leveraging me right now because I'm taking my time to write this post.

Leverage other people's money? Yes... you'll find that often you can run a classified in the local business for 30 days before they send you a bill. That's what I did! How many other ways can you leverage other people's money?

Leverage other people's talent? You might STINK at sales... but in this example, you can set up facebook business pages like nobody else. So place some classifieds, craigslist ads, etc... and offer 35% to 50% commission for sales people to close deals for you. Get people who are talented in their area to focus on their talents so that you can focus on yours... working together can be massive.

Go to networking meetings... you know.. tweetups, chamber luncheons etc... those people are almost all salespeople..and guess what MOST PEOPLE HATE THEIR JOBS... so just offer them a "side income" and maybe it some day they'll make that their full time job. I've seen it happen!

Anyway... stay motivated... don't worry about the failures and rejections that WILL try to block you .. and get moving.. ACTIVITY creates ACTIVITY... just be sure to leverage it!

I've come to find out over time that those who say that there are no jobs, are those who are not willing to work or they think that they are too good to work for less money at some fast food chains. You can always find a job if you really want to work. The problem is that people have pie in the sky aspirations and are not living in reality.

McDonalds is a job, it may not pay what someone wants, but it's still a job. Sometimes a person has just gotta do, what has to be done. Its always better to make $80 dollars a day than $0 dollars a day.

Even if you work for day labor, you can make cash daily, which is better than zilch, nada, nothing.

I definately would not like to work those types of jobs just as much as anyone else, but I'm honest enough with myself to know that some money is better than no money at all.

P.S. I would understand if someone had some physical disability or mental disablitly, but if you are fit to work, then get a job, any job that pays money. You'd will be better off for it, you do not have to stay at the job for long, but it takes some of the pressure off for sure.

Many (Internet Marketers) especially the beginners, who are enthusiastic and keen to learn the art of 'making money online' - the quality which is good - but they tend to "BUY" almost everything that's been thrown at 'em.

If you do that blindly or fall in the trap of "Gurus" than you'll most definitely find yourself in the situation you're in.

    BUT Here's The Solution...

--->>> FOCUS on learning the IM Techniques which are 100% Totally FREE, in the beginning, after that:

--->>> CONCENTRATE on buying the tools / techniques / software that are not more than $1, and build your foundation...

--->>> BUILD ON THE FOUNDATION Learn Earn...

Look on Fiverr.... Post some gigs, post some more gigs, and then post some more gigs.... I find Fiverr surprising.

Last $5 gig I got from there has turned into 3K and counting.... Once you are making money invest in your education, follow one thing and stay focused.

Track any WSO's/products you buy. Make sure that you get a return on the investment or refund it. Don't buy anything new until you have taken everything you can from the last thing you bought....

It is the biggest mistake 95% of us make I expect, running from one thing to another and it is extremely unlikely to ever happen like that.

If you're truly broke, there still are ways to make some money, so long as you still have enough money to live on, pay the rent and so on. If you don't, then you probably don't have enough time to actually begin generating online income before they unplug your internet connection.

Supposing that you can at least afford to live and eat, and have some spare time to invest, you need not spend any money to get started, at least. One of the biggest problems online marketing has is the "shiny object syndrome" where people are always looking for the next object that takes their attention, and spend all of their capital (money) on the promises of being rich overnight or on autopilot that they never actually implement anything. I'm so frustrated with the current advertising practices of promising the sun and moon and delivering dirt that I almost can't stand it. In fact, I created an honest marketing product that tells the absolute truth about how to make money online, and the time it really will take. Given that you are broke, I won't mention the product here, but provide a tip for getting yourself out of your current problem.

Go to Squidoo, create an account there, and create a lens (blog) on a topic that you are interested in. With Squidoo, they place ads around your content (Adsense or other Cost Per Click (CPC) advertisements.) In return for your blog content, Squidoo gets paid from the ads that get clicked (they keep 5% to begin with) and you can choose to either give your portion to charity or have it paid out to you. I'm not sure of the percentage you get, but wouldn't be surprised if it were 50% of the Adsense revenues. Given you don't pay anything for the opporotunity to use their site and authority, and can get your keywords into reasonable page ranking on the search engines, you have the possibility of generating some money through this avenue.

Keep up your blog posts so you get noticed, and the visitors will click on the ads around your content. This way, you will begin to generate an income stream. Once you get any significant income, you can then decide whether you want to invest in your own domain name, web site, blogging engine, autoresponder and newsletter message sequence. Meanwhile, you can stop throwing money into a hole on the "get rich quick" schemes you may have been victim to in the past. Will this make you a millionaire? Nope, but it is a method of getting from where you are towards where you want to be. It will take time, it will take effort, but in the end, it can generate income without any monetary investment on your part.
