OK so you buy a product (desnt have to be a wso) that says you can make money without spending a dime. Now i'm pretty sure thats a one in a hundred thousand scenario. It can be done but not by many

So do we have any sympathy for said person when he turns up 6 months later bemoaning how the product was all hype and didnt work.

Actually Robert, I have found a few ways of making money online without
    spending a dime.

A lot of money? No. For that, you need to invest.

But if somebody is looking to make a couple of hundred bucks a month
without investment, it can be done.

But for the most part, I totally agree with your post.

Pretty much unrealistic expectations...which is a big part of the reason
why so many fail online. They don't treat their business like a business.

Having said that, I'm actually quite a cheapskate, relatively speaking.

Not counting my Internet connection, I'd say my monthly expenses for
my business are about $200 to $300 a month.

    And trust me...THAT'S cheap.

Robert, making money in IM without spending a dime is entirely possible, but what many newbies don't realize is the time-money equation - you can start making money by putting lots of elbow grease (and time) into something, or use money in lieu of it, but you've got to invest either time or money into it as there is no free lunch here!

The big issue I see here is that many newbies are attracted to the money but don't want to work or put forth much time into IM, and yet want to see significant results quickly! This is what makes them come back here several months later with a cynical attitude, proclaiming that all of IM is a scam.

Its possible, but not probable. And it takes someone with exceptional skills to achieve it (or luck)

For everyone that does there is 999k that dont, and thats the problem. Being told its possible is the nemesis of most of the people trying.

and even when they are gien a perfectly reasonable, doable system for achieving it. They expect not to have to spend any more money than that which they spent to find out the system

I bought a $500 dollar product that said i could make a lot of money if i followed the system, but i had to buy a lot of other things to make it work
Is also another crazy thing i see mentioned all the time... Yes and your point is?

I'm with you on this Bob - Yes it can be done and probably you and I have both proved that at some point - but it's not normal and it's definitely not the right mindset to start out with.

Personally, I think this kind of mentality is doomed to failure. You've got to be willing to invest in your future, whatever your career choice.

Every trade requires the right training, tools and/or suppliers.

Most people coming from a background of employment conveniently overlook the fact that the employer generally covers these costs.

When you work for youself the cost of tools/training/suppliers has to be covered by your truly.

It takes knowledge and experience to know when/where/what to invest in.

Knowledge and experience is shared freely on this forum. But that doesn't relieve members of the responsibilty to invest.

(Sorry for the ramble. It's late, it's been a long day, & I've had a beer!)

Andy, I'm going to guess that you play the drums. I used to play many years
ago but sold my drum set when I needed cash as a young adult.

Oh how foolish I was to part with that thing. I miss playing.
