When was this feature added?

Two strange clickbank occurrences today.

1. One of my products that practically never makes a sale thats not through an affiliate made 2 non affiliate sales.

2. I offered a bonus package for another product and have had buyers forward me their receipt to get the bonus but I haven't received credit for the sale.

So it would seem like somethings up.

I would actually have to agree with this on my end.

I have an active affiliate account with CB and I've noticed low conversions lately, and traffic is steady.

The economy could be a part of it - especially with products that fall into more of the curiosity/entertainment genres - but it would make more sense that traffic would fall - not conversion.

I usually ignore the "sales are down" threads because usually it's just people who have no legitimate sample-size to draw any conclusions, but in this case, across numerous forums, something is definitely up, and it has to do with tracking and perhaps CB's new geo-pricing function, which I think is retarded as a default setting.

It should be optional for the publisher, without having to contact them.

There maybe is a hoplink tracking issue. Many people are finding when they click through to the purchase page that their affiliate ID is not showing (affiliate=none). Check it out for yourself.

I've found 10 products (so far) that I'm promoting where my aff ID isn't showing up on the purchase page.

I just upgraded the graphics on a couple sales pages I have for CB products and have noticed a slight increase in (non-affiliate) sales.

The daily sales results for the whole of my previous week was excellent.

So it cannot be due to the dropping US economy.

My sales in the past few days have been suddenly A LOT lower than even the previous 3 weeks.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I sure hope that I can get ClickBank to remove the geo-pricing function. Otherwise we all should contact ClickBank to remove it.

I am refering to my own sales as a VENDOR. If vendor sales are down, then of course all affiliate sales would be down as well.

I don't think that the geopricing is the root cause of this because 99% of my sales are US so the geoprice should be in $$.

But I'm experiencing the same problems of lower conversion rates. I'm getting more hops than ever at more than 550 per day and yet my conversion rate has dropped from 50:1 to more than 100:1.

It seems to be certain products and it goes in waves. Not the same product all the time. One product that I promote usualy gets 2-4 sales a day but it hasn't registered a single sale in the last 5 days.

All my links get checked out to the sales page when I set them up but it would be a mammoth job to test them all now.

I haven't had any problems with sales with Clickbank but I always do with Commission Junction. I have had friends order from a Commission Junction link with me sitting right there watching and I never did receive my commission. This has happened several times.

I know this isn't the solution everyone wants but I e-mailed Clickbank and they disabled the automatic currency conversion. The price now displays in whatever currency I choose but the customer also has the option to (manually) convert it to another currency if they wish.

In the latest Mozilla Firefox update (unless I have noticed it late), Clickbank.net is under the list of blocked sites for accepting Cookies.

Check it out.

Looks like I won't be promoting Clickbank products as an affiliate for a while

I think it's been known for some time...

Linking to the CB payment page directly, instead of using the standard hoplink will cause loss of your tracking.

It is stated in their FAQ's section.

Nope, I'm referring to the standard hoplink. After all the standard hoplink uses Clickbank.net

scale like I used to.

I moved to CPA offers! Conversions are freaking amazing!!
Setting up a $100-$200/day campaign with CPA networks is
a lot easier than with Clickbank.

A few weeks/months back.. some guy called Jay was tellin' people about this.

Through the last 5 years when people have been bitching about CB, he ignored it.. because he did tests to prove differently.. but this time CB links did not pass the testing and he told everyone that asked him about it..

Guess what?..

Nobody listened to him and ASSumed he was one of the whinging crowd...

You NEED to diversify, replace some products, find alternative programs and merchants. If all your eggs are in the CB basket.. get them out now and spread them around a little. CB is NOT dead or dying.. but there are issues with tracking and the payment page currency options..

Not according to this site:

Statistics are just guidelines of course. The reality is, a lot of people use Mozilla, so you could be losing 20%, 35%, 45%, whatever the number is, on sales.

Whether that sales figure is $200 or $10000.

And Mozilla is just one issue, there are probably a whole myriad of other issues like Spybot, cookie stuffing etc

clickbank can be flaky with safari on Mac too. As I found out to my cost.

I think this is because of bad economy as well.
Even internet marketing will suffer in bad economy when the consumer confident level is low

I don't think it is Firefox that does this, but probably another program you have
downloaded onto your computer. Sypbot Search and Destroy will add clickbank.net
to your blocked sites when you use the immunize feature. I don't have any sites
in my blocked sites list with Firefox.
