Best video resolution for smartphone users?
Once upon a time, it was oh-so-simple; video resolutions were set to what IBM said they were: VGA = 640 x 480, XGA = 1024 x 768...
Nowadays, everyone makes up their own. :rolleyes:
So what's the optimum resolution when creating a video to be viewed on smartphones?
The iPhone's res (before version 4) is 480 x 320 with an aspect ratio of 3:2. Will that be okay for all smartphone users, or is there a more broadly compatible resolution than that?
Or am I asking the wrong question? Should I be more concerned with creating video for a particular aspect ratio than for a particular resolution?
I'd love to hear from anyone with experience of this!
