I am performing magic with this article

So I published an article yesterday about Brett Favre and his recent problem and how the city of Green Bay was distressed over it. I check my StatCounter data and find this is my most popular article over the last week with 416 visits.

I decided to check the Google Keyword Tool to see what the data shows. I must have some magic working for me, because according to the GKT, keywords show that the highest one of them gets 320 Global and 260 local. And that one is the only three digit number. All the rest are in the twentys except one that is above 50. That is per month as you know, and I got 416 since yesterday mid day pacific time. I would have to be getting about every search query clicking through to my site from all of these keywords, over the course of a month, to get that kind of traffic. Yet I have got it in about 30 hours.

Not too sure why I am sharing this, but it seems a bit strange to me. I would be interested to see anyone's comments on this.

Could it be that real-life current search counts are inflated right now, because the story is currently so much in the news? Whereas the stats from the keyword tool are not up to date?

Don't know for a fact that they're not up to date, but I've always figured they were based on last month's data, or something.

You'd better do some more research. Green Bay is not in any distress over Brett Favre. He is not a beloved figure in Green Bay anymore. He is now the enemy. In fact, he's pretty much a punchline throughout the league.

Just remember that GKT is usually based on historical data and averages, so maybe you set a precedent?

I guess it is pretty obvious that I hit a streak. Just wish there was some money in this type of article, but oh well. Such is life.

Edit: Google Insights does show a spike over the last 30 days, since this story is in the news. I sometimes wonder what good the Keyword Tool is though. The numbers are not accurate to begin with, and they are ancient history to boot.
