It stand for Private Label Rights. Suff you've bought like articles, pdf's etc that you can do what you like with. They aren't unique since lots of other people may have bought them.

Private Label Rights. They are typically e-Books, PDF's, articles or other written publications that you can buy (or sometimes get for free) that are yours to resell or give away as bonuses. Usually you can get PLR stuff pretty cheap and many of them have fairly decent content. However, the downside is that they are reused and redistributed so they're no longer unique in quality. To get around that problem you simply take the PLR content and rewrite it to make it "yours".

    LOL! Thanks for the laugh.

Note though that there are different levels of PLR, some creators have restrictions and some don't.

Kristy is right, there are both restricted and unrestricted private label rights and a multitude of variations on the theme.

The bottom line is, before you buy, check what you can and can not do with the PLR that you intend to purchase. If the vendor is not prepared to disclose this information, then do not buy. There are plenty of other vendors and sources of PLR.

Always make sure that you get a license from the vendor which details what you can and can not do with the PLR. Even this is not fool proof however, as anyone can provide a fake license.

Until you gain experience in the field, only buy from sources that have been recommended to you by trusted friends or that have good reports/write ups on highly regarded and respected forums such as this one.

      Just my thoughts,
      Jeff.

    Thanks Jeff!

Yes, I knew there would be pitfalls with buying PLRs so I have way more than enough lawyers around to handle any problems.

Just sifting through the IM game is time consuming enough but once one gets through the BS there are some golden nuggets to be found.

Nothing wrong with asking such basic questions. That's the whole idea of a forum.

    Discussion...

Noticed someone just revived my topic from 2 years ago where I was asking about affiliate links in ezinearticles, ha ha. Was thinking, "Man, why didn't that guy just find the answer himself? Pretty easy to just look at the guidelines on ezinearticles!"

But I didn't, and nothing wrong with it, although we can often find the answer ourselves, sometimes it's just easier to ask on the forum. So go ahead and ask, that's what it's here for...

Oh, and PLR is Private Label Rights, of course. But everyone else already said that. It can be any kind of product where you can edit it and put your name on it, and/or use it to create your own new product which can be a big, big time saver.

As Jeff said, you must make sure you read the license agreement that details what exactly you can do with the product.

There are RR = Resell Rights which are products that you have the right to resell and keep the profits but you can not change or edit the product in any way. You can't sell the rights to the product just the product as is.

MRR = Master Resell Rights which is usually just RR with the right to sell the rights to the product. Most MRR licenses will not let you edit or change the original product.

PLR = Private Label Rights gives you, most of the time, (again, read your license agreement) complete control over the product including authorship.

This is much like the offline world of distribution where you also have Private Labeling. There are plenty of companies that will allow you to buy the right to have your label placed on the product. everything from bottles of water to vitamins.

PLR means a real cheap and fast way to buy stuff to re-brand and sell to others or add as bonuses to your own products. I love PLR as you can buy some awesome stuff if you know where to look that can build you a nice big opt-in list of people who will think your great for giving away such valuable stuff for free.

Sorry cbgaloot, but you perhaps overlooked that:

        Quote from that page:

"PLR - Private Label Rights. A form of rights attached to a particular product. PLR offers the most flexibility. PLR products often allow the user to edit its content and put your name as the product creator, among other things."

        All the best,

Maybe it's keyed geographically ( I see you're in Europe, where as I am in the US.) but PLR is not in either of those directories when I look. Then again I may just be overlooking it. Ive done that sort of thing before.

There's also a feature of this forum whereby if you hover over a commonly used acronym, it will show you what it stands for.

I'm not sure if all of these will work but hover over the following acronyms.

    PLR

    MRR

    SEO

    PPC
