Please Help - I Need Guidance!

First of all I would like to thank you for checking on my thread to see if you can help.

I'm not totally new to internet marketing, I know the basics and most of the terminology used in the industry. I understand on and off page seo, I feel that my on page is a lot better than my off, keywords in title, H1, url, LSI and try to write content that will keep visitors coming back. I think I've gotten pretty good building blogs to the point that many times I can make a post and it will jump straight to (for example) page 2. At this point I prceed to building backlinks using hubs, lenses, ezines, video, profiles, blog comments and so on.

My off page efforts seem to always be a losing battle. When I finally do get that page one #1 slot, it's usually not the keyword that I optimized for but somthing related that has hardly any traffic. I use market samurai and Google webmaster tools to track my ranks and it seems that Google will place my pages and/or websites in the number one slot for tons of keywords as long as they have no traffic. I can literally start a new site or blog today and have it indexed within hours, but I fail horribly when it comes to what really matters, traffic.

I need to rethink my online efforts, everything that I know about internet marketing has been pieced together from all over the place. I need a solid business model coming from one source with a proven track record of being successful when followed. I no stranger to hard work and long hours.

So please, if anyone can understand my problem and/or knows of a 100% complete step by step business model that might work hand and hand or compliment what I've already been doing please let me know.

Also, any advice or ideas are welcome and better yet encouraged.
Thank you!

    Most business models will do the job for you if you understand the four basics of online marketing:

    1. Create or Tweak an offer;
    2. Send Traffic to your offer;
    3. Analyze your results;
    4. Repeat steps 1-3...

    When it comes to traffic, I have outlined 35 traffic strategies in the MTS report shown in my signature...

    The report is fairly extensive and will help you target your traffic as well as show you a range of traffic strategies...

    It really is this simple... Create an offer, get traffic to your offer, and analyze your results...

    Keep what works...

    Ditch what doesn't work...

    What has worked for me and others in the past may not work for you...

    AND

    What has worked for me and others could work for you if you invest an honest EFFORT into the process...

    There are as many business models as you can shake a stick at, but affiliate marketing is one area that many people do well...

    I happen to like product creation the best...

    And I have made my online living providing services for more than a decade...

    I think you are better off with your "bits from all over the place", the good thing about internet marketing is you can try anything and in reality it should improve you traffic/conversions (obviously stay away from illegal sites ect..)

    If you have a site in search results then you are on the right track, if you are using Market Samurai how do you compare with other pages for a particular keyword?

    You need to remember that there are hundreds of things that can affect your ranking..

    Age of Domain
    Keyword density
    Incoming Links
    Outgoing Links
    Pages on your sites linked together and so on..

    I had a site on football shirts a long time ago now, back when I started, and I to used Market Samurai, and I could not get my site ranked for terms such as..

    Arsenal Football Shirts ect ect..

    I gave up on the site in the end, and just left it.. "as is" recently I was going to re-use the domain and noticed that I was page 1 in Google 3rd spot for a high search term that I had spent weeks trying to get..

    I guess the point I am trying to make to you is do not continually "re think" what your doing, just add updates when required to make it slightly better, focus on your main keywords and let them mature,

    Build your links in on a daily basis, to increase traffic and of course your PR ect.. and you will see results.

    As for having a site indexed .. that much is fairly simple, anyone can build up a site and get it indexed, it is the dedication to the moderation, updating and developing of a website, that seems to be where people strugle.

    Good luck with your marketing, and stick with it! (probably the best piece of advise!)

    Hi,

    Start creating valuable content and put it up on your website and stop being obsessed with SEO stuff, simple as!

    I was in your shoes some time ago and it took me a good while to figure out that there's no silver bullet. For instance, I write good blog posts and make videos and submit them to YouTube. Of course, I use relevant keywords and tags etc, but I don't FOCUS on those things. It's not rocket science - any reasonable website software will take care of SEO and as far as your content is valuable you'll get more visitors from Google naturally.

    Of course, you need to build links, comment on other sites etc, but most of your time should be spent on CONTENT creation!

    Regards,

    Robby

      This is some good advice and it somewhat confirms how I feel about the time I should use simply creating more content and the time that should be used doing off page stuff.

      It seems that you feel off page seo is overrated. Has your experience proved this to you?
