Good freelance writing sites for getting work ?

You could try ecopywriters.com. I think they start at about $0.18 per word at level 1. As you complete more jobs your writer level will go up. I went straight to level 2 after submitting my sample which pays 2cents per word.

To get work all you have to do is select an available job from the list and it's yours. The downside is they can take a while to approve your work, and there is often strict guidelines to follow for each job.

Might be worth a try.

As a full-time freelance writer, let me assure you that if you're not willing to hustle for business, you will go hungry. Some places are easier than others but for good pay you're going to have to go through the process of bidding. Yes it is time consuming but most things that pay are.

First of all, have you tried the Warrior for Hire thread? There's always article work. Just place your ad and offer to do a couple for a low price to get going and if you do a good job, you'll have more clients than you can handle. I just posted a newer ad but my old ad (2 months old) is still bringing business.

Don't be afraid of the bidding process on the other sites, just make sure you have a few well written samples on your portfolio. I like guru.com. Yes you are competing with bidders from all over the world but there is always room for a writer with excellent English skills.

Your other option is to offer your writing services on craigslist, just be specific about what kind of writing you're offering.

Just had a look at ecopywriters.com and it does look a good and interesting site but it says that it can only accept people from US or Canada, and I'm British, although in Thailand just now so ecopywriters.com can't be for me.
North Americans should look into it though

I'll look into seeing if i can put an ad up here on WF.
And i'll also have a look at guru.com though i'm just staring on this and so don't have many samples.
I'll just have to get used to the bidding system i suppose. I never really liked it even for just buying stuff on ebay but they do seem to be used a lot in the freelance writing market.

The best freelance writing site, which pays very well, is Constant Content. It is the top website for selling articles, but their guidelines are very complicated. Many times your articles are rejected due to insignificant details.

I started writing a few articles there. However, English is my third language. This is why I have an editor who correct and improves a few details in my documents. I have also an editor who only cares only about CC’s guidelines and checks all my articles before I submit them for sale. This was the solution I found. I pay a few dollars to my editors and 35% of my earnings to CC, but I’m still glad with the amount that remains for me. My cheapest article there costs $20 (full rights). I sold one of them, but I have only 4 articles in my portfolio. I’m starting now, and I’m not a freelance writer. I suggest you find an editor who will only care about CC’S guidelines so that you won’t have to waste your time with this matter or get frustrated with their constant rejections.

I have another business and I don’t have time for writing articles for CC, but since I’m a writer, I thought that I could help many people with my knowledge, and at the same time make extra money when I have something useful to write about internet marketing, which is a subject that everyone cares about online.

I also write daily articles promoting my business, which is about mental health. This is a very difficult field, there is too much competition, JVs are impossible because everyone has his/her own method, etc. This is why I decided to work doing something easier in parallel, like writing about how to make money online. I have a business since the beginning of 2007 and I’ve learned many things into practice.

You should check Constant Content and be very patient with their guidelines. Use their forum. Ask other writers how to work there. Many writers helped me very much in the beginning.

Here is a place where you can sign up as a writer, they pay $15 per article, written to their title, using their formats. It takes some time learning, but once learned -- you can make decent money. They also pay $7.50 for 150-200 word articles:

I've earned several thousand with them already as both a writer and a copy editor.

WriterAccess.com just takes on american writers.

I wholeheartedly recommend Constant Content to all the newbie writers I know... or at least the ones who have good enough writing to get articles accepted there. It takes a lot of patience and work to write perfectly enough for them, but it pays off.

Dependent on your circumstances, and the immediacy of your income requirements, these suggestions may or may not be the way to go.

Personally, I'd never sell complete lifetime rights to an article of mine....if you must, however, I would recommend sprinkling in some lifetime residual writing, as well...

We have to all think of this as a business.

If a site is willing to pay you $15 for lifetime rights to your article, you can guarantee that they plan on earning multiples of that price over the lifetime of the article. Yes, if you need the income NOW, then this may be the way to go....if you can, though, I would highly recommend learning a little SEO and writing for lifetime residuals.

A good friend of mine earns $50-70/day (dependent on the day) from the articles he has written. He hasn't written a single thing for months.

My earnings are approaching his earnings.

Writers Access looks like a good place, I've checked it out and applied.
Do you have to submit the W9 form before pay off? Or is it when you reach a certain amount of money earned?
