recently got into writing articles...any tips? here's a couple of mine

so i just got into writing articles not to long ago and here's a set of my tips and just wanted to see what others had going

1. write articles on products or services you know. i can't seem to stress that enough.
2. give your honest experience or review on the item. if you're working within your profession, this could make things easy for you.
2. pick a market that's not big enough that's it's too popular but not so corner-cased that its hardly known
3. usually writing articles for free article submission sites tends to hit a pretty good user base (just google 'free articles' to get a list of a handful of good sites)
4. make the articles as 'human' as possible. just be yourself
5. embed affiliate links through out your article, but not so much that it bombards the user with ads
6. repeat steps 1-5

i get pretty decent traffic to the affiliate programs i'm a part of and it ranges anywhere from 50-100 unique's every 2 days. a good percentage of those convert, but i'm always looking for more tips from you guys

so i'll leave it at that and open it up for suggestions from others since you're all so

Here is an article I recently wrote:

"The key to article content writing begins with these two questions. Why do we write articles and why do we read articles?

We write articles because we want to give information for what people want or are looking for.

We read articles because we are looking for information on what we want or are looking for.

That is in pretty simple terms but it is what articles come down to.

Here are some article content writing tips to keep in mind the next time you write an article.

    1. Begin to see yourself as a problem solver. What do people want? What are their problems? What are they looking for? What do they want to learn? What do they want to learn about?

    2. After learning some of these answers, identify the problem or issue they are having.

    3. If you are an expert in that field, provide assistance and offer help with your article.

    4. If you can relate to the problem, write an article about your experience and how you accomplished the problem.

    5. You can also research certain products that can help them and write a review and recommend a certain product.

By seeing yourself as a problem solver when you are writing content for your articles, you are providing help, advice and input to your readers.

You want to lead them to a solution and get them on the right path to a solution so they will have a better understanding of what they need or want.

If you keep these tips in mind when you are writing content for your articles, the reader will come away feeling better and knowing that there is a solution available."

with article marketing I wouldn't worry to much about competition (as long as its not to crazy), A normal site I would target a competition of 30,000 competing web pages or less, but with article marketing you can target more competitive markets, if you send to top directories your article will be ranked in no time.

Make sure you use link text, that points to the keyword you are targeting, and also leave a link directly to your site, this will add a backlink for that page, plus it will add to your backlinks for the homepage.

awesome tips Chris G...are you doing any affiliate linking in your articles...if so, how's that working out for you? i get lots of view and clicks to my products, but the conversions vary...if not, are you getting paid via some other means?

  • Ok, a tip from me.

Work on the principle for maximum reward for minimum effort.

In the case of articles, that means write about things for which you can put the articles together easily.

You can also repurpose the articles in many different ways, so you're getting even more use out of each of them. An article from your site can also be used in directories for traffic, or as the basis for a video, for instance.

The articles don't necessarily have to be on a topic that you know a lot about. If you are willing to do a bit of research, you can write articles on pretty much anything.
