I actually feel kinda guilty asking for help.

I've been working all weekend. Looking at IM formulas, eBooks on making a fortune on the internet, writing sites, article re-writing proggies, all to make a living while I write. When all I want to do is write. Google, click-bank, SEO, websites, CPA, ezines, ebools, articles, affiliates, blog's, OTO, and soo many more my head is spinning.

I'm not interested in learning and trying all the different choices I have. I'm old...lol I just want to write and make enough at the moment to survive comfortably. I want to write good material, creative pieces, with residual income. I can't care about learning all the ins and outs of internet marketing all at once, though I have to admit it's interesting as hell. If I could afford it I'd pay someone else to do that for me. It's all mostly french at this point. Sure I could learn it all. I'm a smart guy. I know I'll have to learn some of it. BUT WHAT....?????..lol

I'd rather put my attention towards writing. Stay on target, manifest my dreams. I love this forum and have gotten so much info in just two days. Maybe I'm just tired. I don't mind working hard and doing whatever I have to do to make it. I've gotten side tracked so many times in the past that I just don't want it to happen again.

" Do what you love and the Money will follow " I believe this wholeheartedly. I try and live consciously and believe I can manifest my future. All in All I've never been happier. I'm just poor as hell at the moment...and really tired.

There are a lot of freelance websites where you can sign up and offer your writing...I think many companies nowadays are looking to get high quality as there is so much bs low quality article work out there..Hope that helps some..

Set up a warrior for hire thread and advertise your writing skills.

If you are going to write on anything then many of the keywords will be related to the topics you have been studying, but at least you get paid to do it.

If you love to write, another avenue would be for you to do ghostwriting and also write PLR ebooks and articles that you can sell over and over again. When you write PLR material, you do the work once and could potentially get paid for it many, many times.

If you write for others you may not make good money. However, if you learn about how to find profitable keywords and set up your own blogs targeting those keywords, you can make decent income using affiliate programs like adsense, amazon etc

I realize that you have already found your passion, writing, and that's great that you already know what you want to do.

When I saw the thread headline I thought of a post I made a while back for all of the frustrated people here at the time.

So to give you a little encouragement and motivation:

I want to thank you all for the imput. I truly appreciate it. Matt, I'll keep that around for reading whenever I get tired and frustrated again. I'm not frustrated any longer but am sleepy...today I want to finish my web site and learn adsense and affiliate programs. Then I'm going to write a short story.

    Thanks again guys and gals

Most people get deluded by hype, now while it's totally possible to make $300,000 in your first year in the internet business it normally takes a big investment I'm talking $50-100K to develop whatever you're doing and then have people work on the marketing.

I find it unbelievable that people believe they can just come to a computer sit down and just start making $100+ by affiliate marketing or blogging or whatever. I think most people come here with a heavy head a big ego and not a lot of skill and they're the people that leave with nothing...

Finally someone who follows my line of thought too. I've stated here that it takes money to make money in the past, and got slammed here, for it.

If you don't have money, you are going to have to sacrifice something else - TIME. And lots of it too. Plus energy and health!

This is my area of specialty. I think I'm going to make a mega-post to give back to the community on my birthday for newbie writers who want to make money with it, because I've seen and posted in so many similar threads.

Here are some tips off the top of my head.

--Avoid freelance job bidding sites like Odesk and Elance. Some writers have had good results, but most haven't. You end up in a desperate war to undercut one another, and the horrible writers who have pre-formulated pitches with good grammar will win. It's an exercise in frustration.

--If you really want to write for sites, check out Helium, the "bottom" level of content site, or Demand Studios and Textbroker, the next level up, or Constant Content, the top level which pays best and gives you the most freedom.

--The money's in private clients and high-end markets. Private clients can be found through setting up your own portfolio on Blogger and advertising it in your sig, a Warriors for Hire thread, etc. High-end markets can be found by flipping through magazines in the bookstore or Googling publication and writers' guidelines for magazines.

--Creative writing, like short stories, is hard to make a living from. You probably don't have the money to invest right now, but once you use non-fiction to make some money, if you want a fantastic course that really teaches you the ins and outs of writing novels for a living by Holly Lisle, PM me for a link.

--A special concern for creative writers: your writing of non-fiction stuff for IM will affect your writing style. I'm still trying to return to my pre-IM writing style in my fiction.

    Hey Epictetuts,

I suggest you try your hand at copywriting! It's one of the easiest areas to make money in and the money is actually significant (unlike for example rewriting articles for others or similar activities like those). Check out American Writers & Artists Inc. | Make Money Writing | Copywriting Courses | Get Paid To Write | Copywriting Careers for all your copywriting needs! They have some great courses available.

    Cheers,

    Chris

Hi, before I started working for my current employer Sponsormob, I found freelance writing and editing work from a subscription called Freelance Daily - good a Google search and it will show up. There is a membership fee, but it if you are a go-getter and hard working, you will find work that will pay. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Just go to a freelance site and create a writers account. Create a few pieces of teaser articles for the employers and you should do just fine if all you want to do is write. I know I go to a couple atleast once a month and have content created for me so I do not have to do it my self with all the other work I do. I think I spend on average 200 a month just on content so if you can get a few return clients you should do really well.

Try a few sites like vworker and elance to start with until you get the feel for everything. Doing that would be just like going to a 9-5 but you get to choose the projects you want to work on. Even better you will get to work at your own hours. You want to sleep in till noon do it then hop on line and put a few bids out there to get started.

I normally will not give new writers more then 4 per 500 word article but it depends on if they provided me with something to look at first. If I liked how the writer did on their show off work. I would likely higher them for atleast a few to see how they do. I have also paid upwards of $8 an article as well that is only because I knew the writer and the work they do. You if all you want to do then just go freelance your work to people looking for writers alot of the time like me.

If you do not want to Freelance then you can go into product creation and see if you can make sales threads and different landing pages

Get into graphics and making websites then you can build a site that looks sweet and can get some good traffic + conversions!
