How Much Would You Buy This Site

I Need the help of warriors again. I want to sell my domain name Latest Football News & Talk - Index cos I have lost the motivation to continue with it but I am not sure what a good price will be. I did a valuation about 5 months ago, the price sedo gave then was 2000 dollars but now that I have a page rank 4 and decent traffic, how much do you think I should sell and how is the best way to sell.

Note I have no money for valuation and the domain name is not monetized.

Why have you lost the motivation?

I suggest that instead of you risking selling the domain too cheap by not getting it properly valued, I recommend you spend some time researching ways to monetize it.

It's a great domain name and one that could be a goldmine in adsense.

    Dont give up.

I am trying to keep the forum mainly because I love football ( soccer ) but it is harder keeping it than before, we recently got hacked and since I was not aware of anything cos back up we lost everything and har to start all over again which is really discouraging and the fact that I have never made anything online makes it more discouraging.

I think I will consider keeping the domain but I am really not sure I want to continue with it.

    1. Valuations dont mean anything. What a buyer wants to pay means everything - This is determined mostly by revenue but other P.A.R.T.S also come into the frame.

(Practicality, Audience, Revenue, Time it's been online, Stability)

    2. Your site lacks ANY branding. And it looks disgusting (sorry). Anyone looking to purchase the site will need to have it branded to look like a soccer forum before they even think about marketing it. Try looking for some soccer forum skins and put it up. It WILL boost the price you can ask for it. Honest :-)

    3. If it's got no revenue, then you're only going to be able to ask for $100 TOPS - people want to know they are going to get a great return for their investment and the more work THEY have to put in reduces the price YOU can charge for your site

If you're looking to sell *right now*, looking like it does and having no revenue, I wouldn't pay more than $100 for it.

All you're giving someone is the domain and some traffic.

If you want to sell that site for $1,000, then stick at it for a little bit and make it look a lot more like a soccer forum. Try putting adsense on there or maybe some "ShoppingAds" to get some revenue.

A typical indicator of price is 4-10X revenue on higher-risk investments like this one. Just do anything you can to boost the revenue of the site. If you're intent on selling it then just blitz it with all the revenue-boosting techniques you can!

    Hope this helps?

Why the hell you want to sell this great forum with a fantastic domain name? Oh c'mon, don't be lazy!

Anyway if you are too lazy - outsource someone else to do the boring work for you!

From the $ point of view, I would recommend to try CPA instead of AdSense

    Hi

Unfortunately valuation sites are a complete waste of time unless you get a newbie buyer who knows nothing about running an internet business. If the site is not earning any money you will struggle to make over $100 but the only way of testing this is to list the site for sale.

Sorry to be harsh but a PR4 doesn't mean anything to most buyers, they are looking for earnings and traffic stats. You may get a slightly increased bid with a PR4 but your best option is probably to develop the site and get active members.

If you do this I wouldn't bother with adsense as your CTR with a forum will be low and soccer isn't a high pay out for adsense in most cases. You would be best putting soccer betting affiliate offers on the site.

    Good luck.

  • Good luck, hope you sell it, you may have to do a lot more work on it and bring up the forum, you do not seem to have much in people. But maybe someone will want it. Hope you do well.

My guess is that it would be worth (for a quick sale) 2 x net value. So whatever you made on the site last year, multiplied by 2 -- if you're also offering up the contact database, and list of customers.

buying a domain would only be a tiny fraction of it's potential. Create some content build backlinks and do ad words.
