Can't Convert Facebook Ads

I've had very little success converting Facebook ads into leads or sales.

I've tried sending them to landing pages with free content, optin forms, directly to sales pages and even to Facebook Fan Pages.

I just can't seem to convert. Does anyone have any tips or advice they can share? Have you been successful with Facebook Ads?

    I have been recently getting a lot of improvement in my facebook campaigns by thinking in more depth about the demograpic that I am targeting.

    Don't quote me as the most reliable source as Im not that experienced in PPC. I much prefer free traffic sources

    Anyway.....

    I was promoting a CPA offer for a dating site, the first time I ran the campaign I just dropped in age range + sex not really considering what it would achieve.

    The campaign failed badly.

    So I went back to the drawing board and got chatting to my affiliate manager at Neverblue and he told me the demographic of the offer that I was promoting.

    I think demographics are key for facebook.

    After this chat I change the age range and likes/interest to fit the demographic and connections to fit in with groups and like pages that would indicate common interest in the subject.
