The VALUE of What We Know - $$$$$

Just come back from the first of many meetings I will have with a new client (yep I am taking on clients).

This guys has a great site, great products and makes a lot of money offline however his online business is a flop!

I was introduced to him as by a friend who does his IT and tasked with helping him get his web marketing working. Having spent a couple of hours with him and his marketing manager I can confirm the following ...

WHAT WE KNOW AS INTERNET MARKETERS IS WORTH THOUSANDS TO OTHERS!!

He is offering to put me on a hansome retainer just to get everything sorted for him ... reckon its worth about $20K per annum for a few hours work every month.

It really has made me understand that the hours of sweating, testing, overcoming failure, reading and working out how to make money on the internet has not only been worth it for my own online business, but now also has opened other very profitable opportunities up to me.

Bring it on!

    there is plenty of money to be made in offline marketing, what helps the most is to have a positive attitude and take no for an answer.

    That's awesome John, congrats.

    From my experience, a corporate web presence is controlled by:

    1) Marketing
    2) I.T. (computer department)
    3) Sales

    Sometimes it's a hybrid and sometimes no one knows. There CAN be a lot of in-fighting going on due to personality conflicts - be neutral and just watch your meeting times - you can get sucked into hours and hours of meetings which they may expect for free.

    Set a limit on those times, with a clear billable schedule if they go beyond that time limit. Don't be a jerk but enforce them.

      Wise words indeed ... I have set out a very structured agreement that manages expectations shall we say.

      It is clear what I do and how much I get paid for each step.

      So far so good and honestly there so many issues on their website which are obvious to us guys that I can really make some good dosh here.

      Definitely going to give them a lot of value in return for a lot of cash

        I LOVE these gigs... you get paid what you *should* get paid AND you get to actually provide VALUE vs all the marketing garbage out there.
