new maeketers or marketers not making money

I've had enough of seeing people loosing homes etc this as got to stop.

Right new marketers (sorry I don't like the term newbies)

Make a decision are you a consumer or are you building a business? Huge difference, yet every failure I have spoken with; claimed to be in business, yet all analysis about what they did online clearly showed them to be a consumer.
Decide which one you are, now that's out of the way

Right before you buy any method product, ask the vendor some questions such as, but not limited to:
Have you tried this yourself?
Is this still working today?
Will I need anything else to make this work for me? If its money then ask how much?
What skills will I need to employ to achieve a good level of results? (be it traffic, list building etc)
Ask yourself what will this truly bring to my business?

This is what some people are selling you:

Old outdated methods that simply will not work however much time and effort you put into it/them..

Methods that sound like they could work but have never been tested or never made a dime with when tested

Common sense - yes this is what you need to apply, let me ask you a question, if you had a method that was generating you good money daily, would you sell that method? And more importantly would you sell it for sub $5000 (obviously the price would be indicative of the profit potential) well would you??

Remember marketing step 1. A copywriter has crafted that sales page/video with you in mind, to target you with one purpose - put you into their sales funnel i.e. extract your money from you.

If it sounds too good to be true, then ask ya mamma what ya should do if you're uncertain, if you are of an age where you cant ask mamma then you should be old enough to answer the question yourself

Good luck in your ventures

I think it is more about people being lazy and wanting easy money. That is why all of the big clickbank products flash "easy money", "automated money", "make money with one click", etc.

When I first started out I was working 16 hour days and I was not spending time reading how to make money because there was very little to read at the time. I just went out and tried things. Small trial and error tests. Many other marketers I knew did the same thing. We just spent our time doing something constructive.

Today it seems most people don't want to work or try things. They spend all day trying to find the easiest way to make money. The fact is even the old "out dated" methods still work and make tons of money. I am old school and I have used and will always use methods that people consider out dated because they WORK! I know from experience. The only problem I see with people failing is they don't want to do the work and they are wasting time.

Yes, if that method would not ruin my current income and if I can generate more income from it.

The key part I think you left out is the products that say "Only 300 available". Obviously none of those guys are going to sell only 300 at $37. It would not be worth their time. Just realize that is a lie and the rest makes sense. They will sell thousands and thousands, plus upsales, plus gain large mailing lists, and more. They make tons of money from these which makes it well worth the time to give away money making methods.

Like I said above the issue is people are digging for the silver bullet. They want the "easy button" for money. The problem is not with the products. I hate the sales pages for the products because they do go after these easy button seekers. Many guides just show methods that are commonly known. They are not outdated. Just about any method can still be used to make a lot of money. I can probably make money with almost any method in any guide with hard work... but that is the silver bullet isn't it? HARD WORK.

There are a lot of products/methods sold that wont work in a million years, and if you think every method sold will work, then good luck to you sir,

BTW I am not stating WSO's here, although some may well fit the bill above.

which time was it ref? "I was not spending time reading how to make money because there was very little to read at the time"
eh? in the beginning the vast majority of the info was freely gave away online and the main selling lead was how to progress with direct mail on the bb boards, very little was paid for in the early days

I said almost any. There is for sure some garbage out there.

I was referring to the late 90's. There was information but nothing like today. Today is total information overload. So many different marketing and research tools. So many different avenues to make money.

Then if you wanted information you need to hand dig for it. If you needed something done it was hand made. There were less avenues to make money but also the money was easier so you would just pick one and go.

Today there is still tons of money that can be made in so many ways. I am just saying people are looking for money to be handed to them instead of working for it.

I agree ref information overload, although the majority of it is pointless noise and the usefull stuff is freely available if people are just willing to look for it, they may have to push a button more than once to find it though

What I've noticed is that many of the people who are complaining about not making any money tend to spend more time reading about how to make money than they do actually working towards making money. You have to figure out what works best for you and you can't do that reading about what works for someone else.

When I first started, I did the same thing. I bought a bunch of products that claimed they would make me all kinds of money. I soon realized that all I was doing by buying these products was making money for others. You can spend a lifetime reading about how to make money and never actually learn enough to do it yourself.

The only things I buy now are programs or scripts that make my life easier. In order to make it in this business, you have to be dedicated to it. Nothing is going to be handed to you. Get out there and get to work. Learn from your mistakes and figure out what makes YOU money. Figuring out what makes other people money is simply an exercise in frustration.

    Hello mmaeb. Excellent post!
"Make a decision are you a consumer or are you building a business? Huge difference, yet every failure I have spoken with; claimed to be in business, yet all analysis about what they did online clearly showed them to be a consumer." So true!

"This is what some people are selling you:
Old outdated methods that simply will not work however much time and effort you put into it/them..
Methods that sound like they could work but have never been tested or never made a dime with when tested" So True!

To all new marketers- You must be consistent and persistent. Be patient... you're not going to get rich overnight! Take action... do something everyday. Buy courses (ebooks, videos, cd's etc.) that you can use, that will help you right away. Don't buy too much at once. Find a product, service or opportunity that you really believe in. Lastly, don't quit!

    To Your Success,
    Brad Marcus

I know - where has people's common sense gone? With the daily flood of
new people coming to the 'net, you would think they would use it. Isn't it
interesting how a really crummy Internet sales letter done in a magazine
or a direct mail piece would be suspect offline, but believed online?

On top of that, I have a friend who has put together a grocery/gas MLM
business that is legit. You get a monthly return just for becoming a
"loyalty" shopper and submitting your receipts every month. One of my
brothers is doing it and collecting $40 every month before selling the
    business to anyone.

But - there's another grocery program that's getting a lot of social proof
that everyone is jumping on that is actually listed on one of the MLM scam
sites. My brother keeps telling everyone that, but they don't listen. After
he checked it out he ran the numbers and concluded that nobody would
every make any month with it. All the social proofing is about "how great
the program is" - not how much $$ they're making!

    Go figure!!
