Does Anybody Have Any Experience With AlertPay?

I am trying to find the best online payment processor and thought PayPal would be the best to use but have spoken with them and was informed that I cannot refund people money if I have a hold on my account.

That just doesn't work for me.

CNNMoney did an article on other only payment options and I found AlertPay there.

Their fees are higher and they automatically hold the funds for 14 days but the only horror stories I have found about them is that their USA based customer service hours leave people in other time zones po'ed.

Any reviews would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks

I use Alertpay all the time as an alternate to Paypal and 2Checkout. (I have customers who specifically asked for it a few years ago)

I'm not sure how long the holds are for, I haven't had any, but perhaps it helps if you verify your account. (You may have a hold at the start, not sure)

Alertpay is here in Canada, Somewhere around or in Montreal Quebec. Their times for phoning are probably Eastern time zone.

Not sure why people freak about the times of calling... people in British Columbia are on the same time zone as California and have to deal with the same things LOL. (And heck, you won't believe how many companies are US based that we also have to deal with who have their customer service times on their local time zones as well )

Anyway - I get payments coming in from Alertpay several times a month. I typically only do one transfer, and it takes around a week to have it in my bank. (i.e., if I pull it Tuesday, I usually see it in my bank by Monday/Tuesday latest, as long as there's no holidays in there).

    Hope this helps.

I have used Alertpay in the past, quite a bit several years ago for a specific program/product I was selling. They are a good alternative to Paypal, they just aren't as well known. If more people used them and they had more name recognition they would be even better, but it will be hard for anybody to match paypal in that regard just because of the Ebay tie in alone.

One thing about them, they are more lenient on a lot of things and the types of businesses you can run and what you can sell. They have a different account you can choose that has slightly higher fees, but they let more types of items go in that option that paypal would not allow. (Money Making, Biz Opp type stuff)

I have been using AlertPay for sometime now and I have never had any ugly experience with it. I think it's one of the best alternatives to PayPal, especially to us that cannot open PayPal accounts.

I tried alertpay about 2 months ago for 2 transactions around $250-$500 and didnt like how they held my funds for awhile, waited for my customer to email them back in order to release my funds, and they have a very confusing control panel.

I would either stick with paypal or just get a merchant account.
