Where Can I Find An EXPERT?

I want to find an expert. Where do I find one?

Lets say I want to start a dirt bike product and want to have an expert sort of endorse it and look it over and possibly put his name on it for a lump sum. I mean -- I want to kind of have HIM do the sales pitch so it can be credible and not some bogus made up stuff.

If I go to Guru.com, and look for an automotive expert, I end up getting IT guys on the other side of the world.

Great guys I am sure, but not automotive experts. They are just interested in cars and put that in their profiles, so therefore show up when searching AUTOMOTIVE.

Any way to find REAL experts on things? Seems the search engines on Freelancer sites don't work too hot.

Any input my friends?

How about you find some cars forum?

You'll find PHP experts hanging around on PHP forums.

You'll find auto experts in auto forums.

I would try the forums. There is bound to be someone of importance or upstanding that you can convince to help you. Prob just a matter of asking.

You'll have to take a far more creative approach here, obviously. Going to guru.com and other similar freelance sites is mostly going to give you programmers, coders, SEO experts and the like.

What you can do is start finding and reading automotive publications online (especially periodicals) and try to contact every expert that writes there (many of these writers are involved in the automotive field one way or another). These days, many of them are accessible via email and you'll just have to write lots of emails in the hopes that you can coax and cajole someone into doing some sort of a collaborative effort with you.

    1. Go to Amazon.com. Find related books. Contact authors.

    2. Go to Borders/Barnes and Nobles magazine aisle. Flip through related magazines. Find authors and content pieces about people. Bonus: look in ads in back.

No, there really isn't. This is the real offline world, and you need to have the guts and perseverance to keep contacting them until you find someone suitable to work with. It's a numbers game, and you just have to play it until things tilt in your favor.

I would also suggest trade magazines, forums and maybe googling "high-end car shows" or events sponsored by industry leaders. Dirt bike competitions, competitive car races, NasCar, etc. may have experts doing workshops or making guest appearances. You may find bios or profiles of experts in that field and they may publish their contact information.

    Good luck!

    Hello,

Check out Reporter Connectionâ„¢ It connects busy "journalists" (YOU) with experts for media interviews. The best part is this is FREE! You search for experts and contact them. Here's the link...

Bill & Steve Harrison's Reporter Connection

Also take a look at RTIR - Radio-TV Interview Report. This is THE PLACE where shows like Oprah Winfrey go to look for experts as show guests. This is also FREE.

RTIR Online - Where producers go to find guests.

Search for these experts in your niche(s) and offer to "interview" them. They have something to sell also. They're looking to brand themselves. Offer a percentage of the interview if you plan to sell it. If the interview is a give away product then offer to provide their contact info as a byline.

    Good luck!

    Twitter. Facebook. In that order.

Use twitter to find the active groups. Approach the active twitters that also has an active facebook account with actual friends they communicate with about whatever niche your talking about.

If that's skateboarders...find the interested group that talk all about skateboarding on twitter...filter them through facebook...befriend...approach.

    There ya go. :-)

    Hey Oilman,

You want an easier, softer way for an expert to endorse and 'do the sales
pitch.' Not exactly sure what you mean by doing the sales pitch.

    Ok, tell ya what...

If you have money to pay an expert to endorse your product and maybe
make a video pitching your product, then why don't you outsource this
    task.

I'll do it. I'm serious. We can sign an nda if you want. I don't care.

If it means that much to you, and you really don't know how to find your
expert, and you want an easy way to do it... well then.

I've been online since about 96-97 doing business of one kind or another.
I currently work full time as a writer/copywriter.

I can find anything on the net, and I have no problems contacting anyone
    on your behalf.

Let me know if you're interested.

    Ken
