Concerned my eBay Top Seller Status will go to waste

It took me a year to build up a Top Rated Seller Status on eBay, but from monday I will no longer be selling any products on it. It would be a shame to waste the status considering it's considered to be the Holy Grail on eBay, and it's in action for at least the next 2 months without use.

Anyone here have experience of selling on eBay?

What do you suggest?

Because I am going full-time on Betfair. That's how I make big money -- I no longer have the time to put into this.

        What is Betfair?

A Betting site. Betfair Trading, not straight gambling.

Outsource the work to continue selling on eBay. Try not to drop something that is working before you have build up another source (before it's stable).

I always used the eBay thing as a bit of a side show. My main profits came from Betfair. I have turned 500 pounds into 22k in 7 months.

As a bonus my eBay store became a Top Rated Seller Account. Would be a shame to let it go to waste. Especially as a people would kill to be a TRS on eBay.

    Hi:

If I were you, I'll hire a part time college student to run my ebay business. He can come over & work for 3 to 4 hours a day.

You can list all your best selling products to "good till cancel" (you don't have to worry about listing anymore because is already automated)

Prepare a standard ebay listing template & teach your staff how to do basic listing.

Your staff can also do the shipping on his way home

No easy to get top rated. Don't waste it

That's the problem. I will no longer have the products for the "hair loss business" from Monday. That's it. I need to look at new avenues for 1) either listing someone elses products or 2) Selling the account to someone.

There are always ebook sellers crying out for one one these accounts to list their products as a featured item. It is a perfect account in very good standing, with 20% discount on fees. It would increase a persons sales on a massive scale. I mean, look at the reputation I've built up.

sambakker, got your PM, but they don't let you reply to PM's unless you make 50 posts. Silly rule, especially after you spend an age writing the reply.

Anyway, yes....I no longer sell on eBay from Monday, but I'm looking at ways to either maintain my top rated seller (powerseller) status, or sell the account on.

Bumping your thread is against forum rules. If nobody else is interested,
      they're not interested.

If you bump this again, I will report it to the help desk.

I just let my eBay PowerSeller status go. It was sad to see it go, but to be honest, I kind of hated selling on eBay. I was spending so much time shipping items it felt like a regular office job and that's not what I wanted for myself.

If you want to keep your status then keep selling. But if you really don't enjoy selling on eBay, then trust me, it's not as painful as you think letting it go.

Its sad you had to let it go, if you had a more universal name then it would have been a lot easier to sell the account on, i would have even bought it.

The name can be changed easily. You can make 1 change of ID name per month on eBay, I believe.

It took me less than 3 months to become a Top Rated Seller on Ebay. Having the status does help, but I found that Ebay has really slowed down lately. Even though I am now trying to make a success of Internet Marketing, I will always keep my ebay business on the side. I think it is all about "not keeping all your eggs in one basket".

I found that keeping my ebay shop going takes me less than 1 hour per week. Whereas trying to get Internet Marketing going is a whole different matter.....

It can be easy to outsource somebody near your place to run your ebay store. It is important that you trust that person though to avoid any problems. If you can pass on the task to anybody in your family that will be more ideal.

Thanks Andrea. I have a few interested, but family isn't really an option right now. I'm not going to give it away. It has to be a good offer, or something that will benefit me in some way. It took me a long time to get my account to reach TRS, so just giving it away to someone I don't know is out of the question tbh.
