Hello,

I release a free theme a few days ago called Plain Fields.

The theme works on Wordpress version 3 or higher.

Theme is very simple, minimalistic and clean.

I like the clean look.

In Internet Explorer 8 on my computer, the social media icons in the upper right corner are partially hidden behind the menu bar.

I think that is part of the design - similar to the Sexybookmarks plugin for WP/Joomla. :p

I guess the icons are supposed to "jump up" when you hover over them - and they do - but it doesn't show the whole icon, the bottom part of the icon is behind the menu bar.

  Yes, that's part of the design. The icons are meant to be "buried" so that when you hover over them they jump up.

As Sandgrown already said, it's part of the design. Even when you hover, a bit of the icon is still hidden. Again, part of the design.

  Nice theme, but I would preload the social media icons with javascript. This way you won't see any delay during the first mouse-over

Forgot to update the online demo.. No need for JS to preload images. Should work now just fine without any delay on the first mouse-over.
