Forced opt in vs popup opt in?

Hey there,

I was wondering what the IM experts think of a forced opt-in vs. popup?

I'm currently using the popup technique where it floats in 15 seconds into my salespage and the response is m ok-ish.

I'm making a couple of intial sales and a few more when my autoresponders kick in.

I'm been trying the forced opt-in over the last couple of weeks and although I'm getting more opt-ins (naturally), I've also noticed I haven't been getting as many sales.

Any thoughts?

Ta.

I'm not sure if my aversion to the forced opt-in is unique or not but I hate feeling forced/pushed into doing something. Usually my response is the exact opposite of what is being requested of me in those scenarios. (lol. Maybe I have issues.) Of the two options I'd definitely go with the pop up. Personally, though, I prefer the opt-in to actually be part of the page with a really good call to action and offer.

Im not into the whole pop up thing. Its distracting and annoying. You need to catch your visitors attention and the pop up just makes me close out the page

The optional opt-in for a free bonus...the good old days.
