Do you think this file is too large to send to my customers?

Hey Warriors,

I am getting close to releasing a product that will require a 195Mb file download.

Do you think this is file is too large to download, if so, what do you think should be my goal in Megabytes for the size of the file chunks?

Thanks for the help.

For me, that is no problem. I have a 10MB download stream on my internet connection.

But for slower connections - especially dialup, that is sort of big.

While it is a doable size for any connection, I'd hate to have a dialup connection and have the download quit halfway through because of a burp on the line.

I download free games from giveawayoftheday.com and it seems the threshold for folks with dialup connections there runs about 30-40 mb for a game. Bigger than that and the dialup folks start grumbling about the game file size being too big for them.

Thanks Schabotte, this is the kind of answer I was looking for.

I would put it on a file sharing server to save bandwidth on YOUR server. You could supply them an access code with either a number of tries of specified length of time to complete the download.
