What's The Most Effective Banner Size For ClickbanK?

Does anyone know or has anyone done any actual testing on what is the most effective banners size for Clickbank Products?

Maybe the top 5 banner sizes or at least the top 3, not really going for popularity, looking more for whats the most effective in an affiliate campaign?

I assume that 468x60 is the most common, but is it the most effective?

It depends on which types of sites you are going to place it on, what types of products you are promoting , etc..

Like the banner on a normal blog and a JV membership site would be different..

I still find contextual links (hidden withnin your articles or content) work the best

468x60 Full Banner
120x60 Button
120x600 Skyscraper
160x600 Wide Skyscraper
120x240 Vertical Banner
125x125 Square Button
234x60 Half Banner
300x250 Medium Rectangle

The "one" best banner size is not just one size No matter which size you pick, if you don't have the other 7 sizes or whatever then you will miss out on people who use those formats.

Try to offer all standard sizes - and here they are according to google:

It would totally depend on what website you're placing your ad on. Not to mention where the banner would be on the screen i.e. top, middle or bottom. Left or right.

your best bet would be to split test different banners of the same size in the same location on the screen to gage which one works better.

I assume that you're directing the traffic to a landing page of some sort?

Being the authority on banners it's not the size that counts, unlike other things in life.

It matters where on page you place the banners. At the very top of the page is the best real estate or if not then anywhere "above the fold" meaning you don't have to scroll down to view them. You could have a square or horizontal banner, it's where you strategically place them is what matters.

If you have an article, you want to place the banner IN the middle of the article to really get their attention. Etc.

  I've never found banners to be particularly effective for Clickbank products (on my own sites anyway). I get alot more clickthroughs from images of the product I'm promoting rather than a salesy looking banner. When I use banners I've found the button size ones (about 120x6) to be less intrusive.

  I am designing a custom Clickbank ready minisite for someone, and they wanted an affiliate page designed, which will have their banners on it.
  
  So I need to design banners for them, but I want to design banners in the sizes that would best work for affiliates who promote Clickbank products.
  
  I already know banner sizes, ect.... but was just hoping that there were some common Clickbank banner sizes that people found to work well?

It's not about the banner size but how you position it on your site that makes the difference.

A little testing will show you that... but basically.. top right corner..
