Why I am on top 10 on yahoo and no where in google?

Hello,

4 of my snipper websites are on the first page of yahoo but they are no where in google for the specific keyword.

Does anybody know why is that??? and yes my sites are listed in google if I type my web site address domain name in google

Whats the difference between ranking alogorithm of yahoo and google? I have optimized it with the right title, heading, blah blah (you know the deal) and have backlinks.

Because yahoo and Google use completely different algorithms to determine what site ranks where.

I think also, Yahoo and Bing will have the same search results now due to their partnership.

Yahoo and bing does not have the same search results, because I just checked my sites are no where in bing. Only top 10 in yahoo.

No, you dont have to be in the sandbox. Google may just take longer to index your site or Google sees you as not worthy enough to place you higher up since there may be more competition in Google for your keyword than in Yahoo or Bing.

Google rarely takes longer than Yahoo to index a page.

The point is, Google has a "tougher quality filter", and usually ignores sites of low value.

lol thanks i am indexed in google, like i said. I searched for my site with quotes and the main domain name and all the sub pages are indexed but they have no ranking. The sites are all optimized according to google alogrithm. All my 6 sites are optmized and backlinks according to google alogrithm but 4 of them or on yahoo top 10 and no ranking in google. 2 of them are on google top 10 but no ranking in yahoo. They are ALL indexed in google. So I dont know why the other 4 not ranked in google.

    Simple answer....

You rank in Yahoo, because you have given Yahoo what it wants...

And you don't rank in Google, because you have not given Google whit it wants...

They are two algorithms, so you must seek rankings in each based on the algorithms of each one...

If each one reflected the results of the other, why would we need two of them?

It would be nice if we had more info on Yahoo/Bing algorithms. I'm putting the search for that on my to do list soon.

In the meantime, if you want to see a comparison of sites' rankings, just put in a keyword and then look at the chart here yahoo! vs. google: synerge It does appear that for the keywords "women boots", a few of the sites have managed parallel rankings or very close to it, so it's obviously not impossible to please more than one SE at a time.

Google is a pain sometimes. You can be in the sandbox for 6 months and then back to normal over night. It's tricky.

            Ah, okay..

We're on the same boat. I have a site that went live on the 4th week of September.. It's now showing in the 4th page of Yahoo for a keyword, but not in the top 1,000 results yet in Google..

I just have to build more backlinks to it..

    Hi Hitanshu,

I know the reason why I'm in the top 10 of Yahoo and zero in Google cos Google hates me.

Eversince a 'happy clicker' entered my site and kept madly clicking on my ads, Google started hating me.

Really with that new of a site. It may just be that there is more comepetition then you thought was there when you first started. You should try searching for your keyword in quotes and seeing where you stand that way. It will give you a better understanding on what you need to do in order to obtain a better spot on google. The thing with yahoo is they are all about content. Where as google still loves content do not get me wrong but they care more about if it is relevent and others like it as well which is why it can some times take longer to rank on google for given terms then it does on yahoo.

You'd probably get the same traffic from google (ranking nowhere) and yahoo (on first page)

Thats what i think about yahoo traffic LOL

Don't worry, google will pick up your site eventually. They sometimes take more time on some sites than others.

They have different algorithms. They are a bit weird though, because I have a few sites that show up on the first page of Yahoo and nowhere in Google, but the ones I have on the 1st page of Google all show somewhere in the 1st 5 in Yahoo, all for the same keywords.

Just exercise a bit of patience..... it will rise up in Google soon enough once you have done the right things to optimize your sites. Do some back linking.

Google and Yahoo both have different algorighm. Google is giving more focus on quality content and backlinks. And Yahoo is giving more focus on on page activities like: Meta tags, H1 tags, content, etc..

Google is a different businessman from Yahoo. They have different mission and vision. They are two parallel lines.

You can do it, just keep building links to your site, and continue until your goal is reached.

Both have their own algorithm, it may be that you have used those websites which are already indexed in Yahoo for back link purposes.
